"great product, I should have purchased this sooner. Installation was a breeze, probably took about 15 minutes. Works great. No need to worry about tailgate coming down suddenly with children around or wife struggling to open tailgate. I have recommended to my friends but they think it is too much money. After seeing it work I think they are reconsidering."

"This was a snap to install. But the parts that hold the end to the tailgait seem a little wimpy. The instructions say not to over tighten the bolt with the allen wrench but until you have over tightened it and the nut breaks you don't know what too tight is.I made my own nut and washer so far so good. If they make that nut stronger I would give it 5 stars."

"As with everything I've ordered from AutoAnything, the EZ Down works great. I received my order in record time and installed the EZ Down in about 30 minutes. The illustrations in the directions were a little vague but other than that I had no problem. I highly recommend the EZ Down and AutoAnything!!"

"The EZ Down works great!! The bed extender that I have mounted on the tailgate added weight, so with just one EZ Down installed the tailgate was still coming down to fast. I installed another EZ Down on the right side and it works great!!"

"Arrived when stated. Not quite as easy to install as shown in the movie. Tail gate falls faster and harder than an actual demonstration I seen with a heavier tail gate. It does help to lower the tail gate hands free."

Small Problem

"This product was exactly what I've been looking for. I ordered it and was pleased to see it arrive. I opened the package and read the instructions (photos would have better for such a pricy item, but it was easy to figure out). I then placed the ram against where it mounts and found that it wouldn't work with my aftermarket tailgate metal straps. So I put one of the OEM cables back on, and installed the Dee Zee EZ Down. I figured the convenience of the Dee Zee EZ Down was more important than the added security of the metal strap on the one side. The Dee Zee EZ Down worked as expected. My wife really appreciates its function! A great product!"

No more slamming.

"No more worries of the tailgate slamming into the cables with the EZ Down. The only negative I see is that the new installation bolt doen't allow the safety cable to be slipped off should you need to remove the tailgate, though it may slow thieves a couple seconds."

"My grandson (4 years old) has opened the tailgate on more than one occassion ( which just missed hitting him in the noggin). Now I don't have to worry if he tries again. Tailgate comes down SLOW but steady. Execellent product, good installation instructions, and easy to install."
