Sure, keeping the elements out of your bed is one of the reasons you bought an Extang Tonneau Cover. But, there's one more place the forces of rain, snow and dirt can invade your payload: around the tailgate.
To keep your bed completely dry and clean, grab and Extang MaxSeal Tailgate Seal. It works with any brand of tonneau cover, fits any truck, and forms a tight seal around the sides and bottom of your tailgate. Made of industrial high-strength rubber, the MaxSeal can also keep loose loads like sand and gravel from leaking out of the bed.
Installation is a breeze-just clean around the inside of your tailgate, trim the MaxSeal to fit, peel the adhesive backing off, and stick into place. In fact, the whole project takes just a few minutes. There's no better or faster way to help keep your bed clean.

The Extang Maxseal is a must for all truck owner who have installed a Tonnaeu cover from Extang. the seal is easy to install and filled in all the open areas in the tailgate. After I installed the seal it rained and no water was inside the truck bed great product.

Once I got it and saw how it was to be installed I decided it was a waste and did not even use it. The bed on the sierra extends over the lower part and is corrugated so a lot of the tape would be exposed. Anything carried in the bed would be stopped by this tape when unloading sand, dirt etc. I would not recommend buying this product. I did buy an Extang cap at the same time which I would recommend.

This seal is 100% worthless for a 2014 and up GM truck. It seals nothing. First off, there are holes on the under side of the box by the led lights that let dust in, even if this seal DID seal the tailgate area dust would still get in. Now on to the tailgate area and this particular seal. Once installed there are gaping holes on the top 6-8 inches of the tailgate where the curve changes. There is NO WAY to seal the bed area with this particular product.

I recently installed this seal on my 2015 Sierra. The instructions were poorly written, so I'm not sure how it is going to actually seal. I'm waiting to see...
