Camera location is changed from right to left side of the tailgate causing the wiring to be short. Solved by undoing the mounting of the wiring, but felt that there wasn't a logical reason that the camera location needed to be changed from the stock position on right side.

I had to slightly modify unit to fit right. The space under the latch itself is somewhat of a concern...but we will see.

This tailgate lock for my '14 Tacoma looks and works fine. The only problem was the backup camera mount did not fit the camera. I redrilled the mount and installed the camera because I didn't feel like putting it all back together and sending the unit back.. This required a bit of fitting and a tiny washer to make it all work. I would not recommend this product until the problem is corrected.

What now?

Oneside of the dovetail attachment had plastic flash and the wall thickness was slighly oversized. The Pop-Lock slipped out of my hands and fell on the paddled bed cover. That's when the ears broke off. Was able to bolt the two halves together.

I love this tailgate lock! It looks like OEM and works well. The installation directions could have been more detailed but if you are handy at all you'll have no problem with the installation. It took about 45 minutes working carefully. My tailgate has the camera and I find it did change the guidelines on the screen but is just as good as before. The camera is just a guide to use with the mirrors. I didn't give it 5 stars for quality because of the plastic parts inside; however I'm very pleased!

Very worthwhile addition to my truck

Went in pretty easily and adds great peace of mind knowing that your tailgate is that much more secure. While everything works fine and looks good, you can tell that the quality is just a bit less than that of the stock latch that you're taking out. And the rubber gasket that you remove from the stock piece and put on the Pop & Lock didn't fit quite right -- I think once installed and tightened it's OK, but it requires a little concentration to get it to sit right. Overall a worthwhile purchase.
