Yes this product works. It works very well actually, once it freezes, and I thought it was a great idea. The problem is the execution on the manufacturers part. You pay a premium price for the shurtrax, but you get quality that would be second rate for even Chinese goods. The product feels very cheap and flimsy in your hands. The fill port and cap are very cheap. Cant even tighten the cap snugly, or it will pop out of the threads. The filler nozzle is a joke. Same stuff as milk jug caps.

Works pretty well for an extra few hundred pounds. Fast and easy to install. I have a bed mat so sliding isn't an issue even without the rubber straps. I added 4 gallons of rv antifreeze to prevent hard freezing and don't notice any sloshing while driving or plowing. Wish they made it even bigger to completely fill the bed and get even more weight. But so far so good.

I recently installed the ShurTrax bladder into my Ram 1500 Laramie for winter driving in our local mountains (elevation 6500 feet). It has been a mild winter in the SoCAL mountains so I have not been challenged yet by weather and roads. I feel safe knowing that a water bladder is providing secure weight distributed evenly over the rear axel versus concrete blocks and other possible projectiles of weight. It has provided a smoother ride on highway road travel. Happy with purchase.

I had an immediate chance to test out the Shurtrax Traction Weight system since we had a winter mix of ice and snow (mostly ice) five days after receiving my order. My family and I had a very pleasant 3 hour drive in what would had normally been treacherous conditions. Even though my vehicle was 4 wheel drive, I had absolutely zero loss of traction because of the weight in the back of my truck. The big plus is that I am physically disabled and setup was simple.
