"This is just what i needed to complete my truck bed after installing the tri-fold cover." —Billy J from Midwest City, OK bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma, Without backup camera.
"The Pop & Lock is a necessity for Tacoma owners who want to lock up their valuables in the bed of the pickup. The installation was tougher than the instructions let on. I recommend checking out Tacoma World website and searching Pop & Lock installation. The instructions are very well laid out with pictures and good explanations.I've had the Pop & Lock installed now for about 2 weeks and, although it doesn't operate quite as smoothly as the factory handle, it locks and, hey, that's the idea right???" —Jeff K from Edwards, CO bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"I was looking for a locking tail gate latch to prevent tailgate theft. I installed the pop and lock and feel it will meet that goal. Installation was easy. The latch wasn't as fluid in motion as the stock latch, so I lubed it and the tail gate latch mechanisms with some white lithium grease which helped a bit. It is still a bit stiffer than the stock one. It also doesn't look quite as nice as the stock one...the plastic has a bit more dull/rough appearance. The lock operates smoothly though and it completely disconnects the latch handle from the latches on the tailgate, so a thief couldn't just pull harder and break the lock, which is nice. Overall I'd buy it again. I wish they offered a higher quality model for a bit more money though. I'd pay up to $120 for a fit/finish as nice as the stock latch." —Nathan R from Sammamish, WA bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"I got this so my tailgate (with camera on it) doesn't get stolen. This works exactly how I wanted and and am overall happy with it. However, the appearance is not as nice as I would like. It has bad cuts and almost looks homemade. Also not as smooth to open as the original. I would buy this again in a heartbeat though." —Jake C from Las Vegas, NV bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"I ordered the Pop & Lock to help secure the contents of my truck bed after I installed the Bakflip cover. It arrived on time and start to finish it took me about 45 minutes to install. Retro fit was pretty much perfect, no issues at all. Looks just like the factory latch other than the Pop & Lock emblem which I could do without but thats minor. Over all I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it." —James S from Indian Trail, NC bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"Got it on but had to re drill a screw hole for the back up camera and re tap a brass fitting so I could install the unit into the tail gate. then was fine." —John M from Queen Creek, AZ bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"excellent, easy to put on." —Walter E from Hampstead, MD bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"Fairly easy to install. I have a backup camera and had to move the wiring to the other side. Needed a bit more instructions for that part. I figured it out in the end and it all worked out. A 15 minute install. Works great." —Montgomery K from Fort Lauderdale, FL bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"It was easy and quick to install. It appears as sturdy as the tailgate handle that came with the truck. Great for stowing luggage in the covered bed when I travel." —Michael C from Mars, PA bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"Installed the lock assembly onto a 2011 Tacoma with a reverse camera without too much difficulty. You'll need a mini screw driver set to remove screws to reinstall the camera, a little mechanical knowledge and some patients. Took about 45 minutes for installation which included the removal of the panel to access the lock and rerouting the wiring for the camera. The instructions were actually helpful! The lock worked, camera worked and the black lock looks great on my dark green truck after the installation. The only worry is the lock handle is made of plastic and I'm wondering how it will hold up under daily use. But with a bed cover you've gotta have a lock... And this one seems to work well." —Larry S from Roswell, GA bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
"Read and follow instructions. You will need some small screwdrivers, and those tools that are listed. The mechanism is a bit stiffer than factory model when opening, however i am pleased knowing the tailgate can be locked.Am so far happy with the pop & lock." —Arvin M from Kalispell, MT bought a Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma.
