Description

Whether you're loading up a duo of dirt bikes or packing oversized lumber to lug to the jobsite, the space in your rig's bed comes at a premium. So, add 2 feet of extra length to your truck bed and easily handle those king-size payloads with the AMP Bed X-Tender HD.

Unlike those lesser tailgate extenders for trucks, the AMP Bed X-Tender HD is fortified with advanced technology that's built to take massive burdens like a champ. This tough-as-nails truck bed tailgate extender boasts rounded-rectangle T6 aluminum alloy construction and composite uprights—lightweight and durable enough for hard-wearing daily use. Plus, its clamshell design flips back into your bed, creating a cargo container perfect for stowing gear and groceries!

Made to fit your truck bed's specific dimensions, the AMP Bed X-Tender HD comes with all the hardware you need for a straightforward install (minor drilling may be required). What's more, this truck tail gate extender is available in your choice of a black or silver powder-coat finish, and is backed by AMP's 3-year warranty.

Good Product Improved With A Few Modifications

Reviewed by Charles P (McKinney, TX) Reviewed for a 2013 Ford F-150 — May 12, 2013 8:09 PM

Easy installation with good instructions and drill templates. I replaced the kit-provided screws with rivets and added some velcro to the tie-down straps to keep them from flopping around in the bed after installation. The Bed Extender is well made and installs under a tonneau cover with no issues. Very satisfied with the product.

Easy to install and take off

This was easy to install on my Toyota Tacoma. Works great. Easy to take off and store on a wall hook in the garage. Can flip into the bed so can use to hold items inside the bed when you do not need it as a bed extender. Very pleased so far.

Perfect fit, has the cut outs for the tie down in the corners by the gate. I am happy it fits perfect, and works, no more siding around, it's thick rubber, good value.

This is my second AMP Bed Xtender, and it's as great as the first one. IT's well made, looks great, and functions as great as it looks. It's easy to install and removes easily for those times when you need your full bed. I love the fact that when folded in it gives you a small area at the back of the bed to put groceries or whatever, where the items won't slide to the front of the bed. All in all a must have for your truck.

Easy to install...drill motor, drill bit and a Phillips head screwdriver. Boys and girls, if I can do it anyone can do it. Easy to remove and easy to put back in place. Got the black and it looks and functions very well. I have a hard shell trifold cover as well and it is no problems to get to hold down clamps. I do wish they would go back to more square shape. Cannot get two dirt bikes on bed with this shape. After lookin for a year for the old style I gave up and bought this one.

What is the difference between the two? The pics don't look any different when you change the selection. Thanks.

Hi, Since there were two types of Silverado's in 2007, Classic and New body style, select what you have. You will then notice a choice between a black and silver bed extender.

Hi, Yes it will fit, but you need to know if your Silverado is the older body style (Classic) or New body style. The beds are different.

Anyone with a 11 or 12 Superduty 6 3/4' bed that can tell me if this installed makes an 8' clearance for drywall at the inner posts. I am wanting this one but if I can't fit the drywall then I will get the MAX.

Clearance Requirement

What is the clearance requirement from side to side of a trcuk bed? I have a Ram 1500 Quad Cab with a six foot bed. The problem I may have is that the distance from side to side may have been reduced with the addition of a remote controlled/powered bed cover. I now have approximately 59" of clearance. Please advise me if there is enough room to add your bed x-tedner on or not. Thank you in advance.

I would expect there to be some clearance issues as the bed extender is the same or close to the width of the tailgate.

Two methods come to mind. You can either install a tonneau cover which would prevent access to the bed or purchase a set of security torx head bolts and the correct bit to install them from your local hardware store. Both methods will only deter theft.
