I have a Ford 4x4 with the short bed so I bought this product to increase my useable space. It is very light weight and simple enough to install. The little webbed straps with clips are a poor attempt to anchor this thing; while they do perform adequately, I am going to try and come up with a better solution. If you intend to use this item you need to remember that the tail gate will still come up and slam down when you go over bumps since there is no way to latch it in the down position.

Great product, but you may as well not waste time reading the instructions. They sent parts that were "needed" and extra that were not for my truck. The directions were horrible! Do yourself a favor and don't get confused by the instructions, just go to the Internet and watch a video about how to install it. I like the extender and it functions fine. Good value.

I make lots of speaker enclosures as a hobby for sound reinforcement uses...i.e. large boxes. I have to carry a lot of cut down sheet goods from home depot etc... I really like the rotate in ability to keep stuff in place like my propane tanks, lawnmower gas can, kerosene, tools. The instructions are done well and I had the thing in two days with free shipping!

I purchased the angled extender over the traditional and love it! I do haul a generator just as in the illustrations. Fits perfect. Installation was very simple. My dodge was even pre punched for the holes that needed to be drilled. No question as to where to drill. I like the sleek design over the traditional round tube designs. Extremely satisfied.

Frontier owners may need to buy 4 longer bolts and nylon spacers to allow tailgate to close easily when Extender is left inside bed. This is an easy retrofit to installation kit (spacer) they send with Extender for Frontiers. Extender works fine under tonneau.
