The directions were very vague. The back window zippers are very hard to zip. The system of taking the top off to have open air for the passenger and driver is very easy, but to reattach the top, it's horrible. You have to have 2 people to make it somewhat easy. The screw system w/ the plate is an awful design. If I would have know that it wasn't just a latch (like the hard top)I would not have purchased this top. I also wish the side windows would zip off. Not happy with my purchase at all!

Changes I would like to see on this top; The front side edges be cut different no there is no leaks of water or air. There should be a support added over the front seats. The cut at the back corner of the rear door needs to be better defined. The rear side windows should unzip. Lastly the rear window should be redesighed to be removed much easier.

Pros: As far as appearances go, the Trektop is number #1. It will set your jeep apart from others. Good value - a brand new top for just over 500 bucks Easy to install Cons: Although you can roll the front section back like a sunroof, you cannot take the top down. You have to completely remove the top to get an open air experience. Not the best quality top out there. It doesn't create any less noise than my stock top did. Also, some of the parts were bent when I received them. Nothing a hammer couldn't fix though.

I love this top...it gives the Jeep a sporty look, the tinted windows are very cool, and the rollback front it a great feature (had it on my Geo Tracker and loved it). With the price 20% under the standard top price, you have a winning combination. What I didn't realize is how much I'd have to remove from my existing top to install this one. The installation instructions don't mention "some disassembly required", and the instructions could be a bit more detailed, but once you have it secured to the front loops, it goes on easily.

Is this top waterproof? Like if it started raining, would water leak in?
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 07, 2013 2:41 PM
Hi, OE premium fabric is used. It should be as waterproof as a factory top.

Hi Debi, this Jeep top has a removable rear curtain, and the top rolls back, but the windows do not zip out.
