I neglected to ask if the bumpers had caps, and they did! don't know how well they will hold over time and how well they seal and if they have replacement. I did not want to go through the process of returning them. will not recommend them.

Installed front and rear Smittybuilt tubular bumpers. Install went pretty easily. Had to use a rubber mallet to get the front one to fit on the brackets. But eventually persuaded it to go....

Not the highest quality or strongest bumper, but for the price seems to be great. Looks great and well priced. Installation was about 90 percent super easy and 10 percent frustrating. Purchasing transaction and shipping was A+

Love the look with this item, fairly easy to install, outstanding customer service/shipping speed, and good quality visual appeal. The disclaimer in the instructions however state "this item is for appearance only and offers no protection in the event of a collision." I would have loved to have known that prior to ordering, as I would have simply bought another product.

Will this mount a winch?
Answered by Nathan S. — 8 hours 20 minutes ago
Hi, Unfortunately, the light tabs wouldn't be strong enough to support a winch.

I have a 2011 jeep wrangler with a class ii hitch, will your bumper jb48-rs work with my hitch. What I’m asking is will I have enough clearance?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Aug 03, 2012 2:39 PM
The Smittybilt Tubular Jeep Bumper without a hitch will fit fine on your 2011 Wrangler with a hitch already installed. The Smittybilt bumper you have selected has great looks and stainless lasts and lasts.

My 2005 Wrangler Unlimted has Fog Lights on top of the bumper. How easy is it to mount them on the outside of the hoop and does the center of the hoop allow for a winch to be added?
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 27, 2012 3:17 PM
Drilling will be required to mount fog lights on the tube and I would advise against installing a winch on the bumper as it may not be strong enough. I would recommend a dedicated winch bumper if you want to go that route.

Hi David, no, the Hoop Bumper does not have built-in light tabs, but it could be an easy DIY addition.

Good afternoon, I am just about to order a Smittybilt Tubular Jeep Bumper and want to make sure I understand what I need to order. What is the Hoop or No Hoop option? Thank you very much for your time.
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 09, 2012 6:41 PM
Hi Frank, the hoop is the upper bar that loops up and around in front of your grille. The no hoop option just has the two straight bars that go wherre your stock bumper is.

I have a 2008 Jeep JK 4 door Jeep and am considering after-market bumpers (front and rear). I installed a jeep hitch which attaches to the frame will this hitch interfere with the Smitty-Built rear tube bumper above? Thanks! Paul
