Your Wrangler can travel to the deepest, darkest corners of the planet. No fallen tree, tumbled boulder or rushing stream is going to stand between you and your destination. Unfortunately, if you want to bring your bikes along on the adventure, you'll have to leave behind a few passengers to make room. Boosting your 4x4's carrying capacity and versatility is a breeze—just bolt on a Smittybilt Jeep Receiver Hitch.
Armed with a 2" square receiver, your Smittybilt Hitch works with almost every hitch accessory under the sun. Bike racks, cargo carriers, hitch steps—if it slips in, it's ready for action. And, since your Class II Smittybilt Receiver Hitch is rated for up to 3500lbs of towing weight and 350lbs of tongue weight (depending on your model), you can even pull petite trailers with this bad boy.
Never one size fits all, Smittybilt Jeep Hitches are completely custom designed to pair perfectly with your Wrangler's stock bumper. If you're rolling in a JK, you don't even have to drill any holes—it simply bolts right in place of your factory tow hook. It's finished with a glossy black powder coating to ward off corrosion, and Smittybilt backs your Jeep Receiver Hitch with a 3-year warranty.

The hitch, simple to install the nuts and washers where not welded as show. Still a simple installation, would recommend, straight forward item. Would give five stars if welded to hitch.

This hitch bolts right on out of the box, easy-peasy!! HINT: Adjust your crescent wrench to the right size for the mounting nuts, then apply some duct tape to one side. Then you can slip the nut between the plastic part of the bumper and the frame cross-member to start and tighten the bolt into the nut. Start all 4 nuts before tightening all.

Installation of hitch was very simple. Note: Instructions indicated you must remove your Tow Hook to install hitch. This may be misleading. My 2013 Wrangler Sport Unlimited has the rear Tow Hook on the left of the rear bumper, thus NO need to remove it. If your Tow Hook is mounted in the center of the rear bumper, it will have to be removed. There was no need to jack up the Jeep either. Installed it on level ground, in Park, Hand Brake On, wheels chocked to be safe.

If the hitch shown (nuts welded to hitch) was the one I received, installation would have been easy. There is barely enough room to fit the nut between the bumper and hitch. After a little help from my son, prying the plastic bumper away from the frame, I was able to get them started. Everything else was easy.

This hitch was very easy to install (about 20 minutes). It fits great without any modification. Can't get a much better value than this. The only thing that could make it even better would be to include a grommet for connecting a 4-pin wiring harness.

Great product, i would recommend it in a heartbeat. Very affordable , and a quick easy install. It took about 15 minutes to install and it arrived in 2 days, so it was great service as well

The pictured is a JH45. The Hitch that was sent to me was a JH44. I was all set to put the pictured hitch on the back of my 87 Jeep, however I received a full size hitch. And not wanting to deal with a return process I went ahead and installed the JH44 (see Smittybilt Site). It took about 1 1/2 hours to install because you have to remove the rear bumper.
