Safeguard your headlights without impeding light output or hiding their great looks. X-Pel Headlight Protection is the clear way to stop lens-cracking enemies from creating a hefty replacement bill of more than $300 per light.
The secret to X-Pel's headlight protectors is pressed, polished thermoplastic that's custom-cut to the exact dimensions of your lights. This material boasts an incredibly clear finish that uses advanced UV-inhibitors to stop yellowing and clouding. Available in an array of tints to achieve a stellar, customized-look. Beyond looks, your clear headlight protection film can take a punch, including 1oz. stones fired at 120mph!
Each X-Pel 3M headlamp protector installs fast, too. Just carefully line the film up over your lights and press down. The pre-applied 3M adhesive backing does the rest to keep your X-Pel Headlight Protection in place.
You also get clear peace of mind from an incredible warranty. X-Pel is so confident in their product, they back it with a 5-year guarantee.

I ordered these things and had them for about 2 weeks before I got the guts up to install them. I read a fair few reviews saying how hard they were to install and the instructions seem pretty strict too. I live in northern CA and headlights seem to turn yellow in about 5 minutes. TIPS: Spray the back liberally! Take your time, the first one I spent 45 min doing and it doesn't get harder or anything. After getting the technique down, I did the second one in about 10 min. They look great!

Great product.installation was a little tricky due to the contour of light. A lttle heat from the heat gun fixed that.the excess milky water dissapeared after one week.i would definately recommend this profuct.no more yellowing foggy lights.

This is one quality product. From the way it's packaged and shipped to the ease of installation to the absolutely perfect fit to the finished look..... Quality all the way. I'm anxious to see how well they hold up to the elements over time. These are without a doubt, a much better solution than having to restore your lenses a few years from now.

Didn't fit. Shaped correctly but the curvature of the headlights prevented a good installation. No matter what there was a bubble on the curved outside edge of the headlights. Waste of money.

xpel protection film is awesome product but can be difficult to install on the new contoured headlights so get a professional or watch the videos. i have them on all vehicles; best thing is they do not yellow over time and will save your lenses from rock damage.

Originally, I bought the X-Pel for my wife's 2013 Nissan Altima. The quality of the product is great. It's a heavy gauge plastic that should protect for years. The only problem comes from the installation. Depending on your vehicle's headlight shape, it can be quite difficult to properly mold plastic evenly. It was tough with the Altima. I recently bought another X-Pel for my 2014 Mazda CX5 and this time the application was a lot easier. Ease of install will depend on your headlight shape.

Great film, way better than any 3M. It cleared the fog and yellow off my headlights, made em look brand new! Install was somewhat easy, i do have 1 bubble but thats prolly my fault. Good price, pre cut film was precise.

Liek the last person asked, how do you safely remove the protector? I have a set of new ones I purchased from you and want to re-do them. Do I need to warm them up before peeling off? Will they leave a sticky residue? Thanks
Answered by Nathan S. — Feb 14, 2013 10:26 AM
Hi, The removal process is just a matter of warming the plastic, and peeling them off. They will require some muscle to get them off, but they normally peel off without any residue left on the lens. If any adhesive at all remains behind, it may be removed by simply rubbing it with your thumb. The adhesive will then ball up and roll off.

I have a crack in my headlamp, and am looking for a solution to "seal" the cover in order to keep moisture from building up in the assembly and preserving the HID ballast. Would this product do the trick?

I'm thinking that this product would add a little more interest to the look of my 2012 Passat. Will the yellow or blue tinted version diminish the effectiveness of my OEM headlamps?
Answered by Michael K. — May 22, 2012 3:10 PM
Hey Dan, not so sure they diminish the effectiveness of your headlights, but the tinted protectors are not DOT compliant and are intended for off-road use only.

After installing, and after a few years when they start looking beat up some, can they be peeled off and replaced. Is the adhesive going to leave a residue on the lights that will make replacing them a mess.
