The Hella 500 look nice in the Aries 3" Bull Bar. Mounting is sort of a pain (I used the pre-drilled holes in the Bull Bar). You definitely need a deep socket wrench. There is plenty of wire to run to the bull bar, but not enough wire to run to the cab of the Tundra. Directions are decent.

Overall this is a very quality kit. All the materials that you need are included however I ended up needing a little bit of extra 16ga wiring to run up to the switch in the cab. Also bought some loom to keep the wiring safe and would recommend anyone else do the same. Delivery from autoanything was very fast as always. The diagram that comes with the kit made it very easy to install. Quality of the lights is exactly what excellent quality you would expect from Hella

I am looking to light up my dune buggy. Should I use both driving and fog lights to get depth as well as near lighting for use in the desert? Is this enough lighting?
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 12, 2013 8:16 AM
Hi, The Hella 500 Light Kit will help quite a bit, but you can never have too much light in the desert.

Hi, I'm looking for a white light to replace my headlight halogen bulb H7. What bulb should I get? which is better PIAA or Hella?
Answered by Nathan S. — Feb 26, 2013 1:46 PM
Hi, The PIAA bulbs would be a good choice (hint: we have H-7 bulbs currently listed under the 2011 s-series BMW)

Can a Hella 500 light kit be installed in a 2012 Subaru Forester? Will they fit the factory bumper cups? Or in the factory bumper?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 22, 2012 3:39 PM
Hello! No, they are not designed to custom-fit those OE mounting areas. You would need to do some fabrication to make them fit and stay put.

what are the differences between the "parabolic" and the "free form reflectors" and how they light the road? thanks bob
Answered by Jonathan S — Jun 15, 2012 12:26 PM
Parabolic reflectors use a time-tested bowl-shaped reflective surface and a shaped lens to focus tight beams of light. The larger the parabolic reflector and lens, the more light emitted. Free-form (FF) reflectors feature a striking, crystal-clear lens capping a computer-designed reflective surface that’s precisely calculated and cut to illuminate certain areas of the road.

Is the dash mounted activation switch included in the kit? If so, is it compliant with the hole already in the dash?
