Firestorm with Amber turn signals on 2012 Ram 3500

The light bar arrived as expected after ordering. It was packaged fine for the shipment. The light was wired up with ribbon cable (that is fine, just not what I was expecting). I had read all the reviews about it being difficult to wire up. I found that my truck's wiring required wiring to front turn signals and third brake light at back of cab. This was only a minor inconvenience. I soldered all connections and wrapped with rubber tape. I did not hook up the running light, I like it being hidden until brake or turn signal is applied. The one thing that disappointed me was when I went to mount per instructions; I found that the light covered the hole to lower my spare tire. After looking and thinking I mounted the light to the bottom of the tailgate instead of to the truck under the tailgate. The lights are flush with the outer edge of the tailgate and look great! If this one ever goes out I am definitely getting another one, just don't plan on hooking this up in one afternoon, it will take you a while if you want to do it right.

I had a old style Plasma Glow with just red LED lights. I wanted to upgrade. I purchased the Plasma Glow with amber turn lights. I followed the "instructions to a tee" and could NOT get the lights to work properly. The instruction stated to "HARD WIRE" the light strip to the vehicle and to NOT use the trailer connection. After some time I decided to ignore the instructions to hard wire the unit and used the wiring connection adapter attached from the old unit. It worked perfectly.

The light is great! The only thing is that the tape didn't hold! The truck was clean & I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol & made sure it was dry! I used a hair dryer! I had to buy some double sided tape to reinstall it ! Looks great! Thanks!
