"The Hella lights installation kit and instructions were excellent. Everything fit perfectly and worked perfectly. The lights seem to meet my expectations, and the price was wonderful. A third of what KC and PIAA want. Included covers are a nice touch."

"The Hella 500 light kit works great on my '95 GMC Jimmy mated to a Westin push bar. It is also a very good-looking combination. The only thing I didn't like was that the instructions insisted that the kit be wired such that it only works when the truck's stock hi-beams are on. For example, I can't turn on the Hellas if I'm using my stock low-beams."

"I put these lights on my jeep yesterday..Unbelievable!! Install was very easy, everything came in the kit. But more importantly they additional light on the road is amazing. Plus they look good. Shipping was fast!!"

Good slim light

"I am quite pleased with these lights. I have 4 of them mounted on my roof rack and the work grate. I really like how thin they are. Most lights are real thick, but these aren't. Now when I turn these lights on my head lights look like they are mini maglights. And the wiring harness that it comes with is nice, along with the led illuminated switch."

Hard

"The lights are cool, really good vision on the roads and aren't blinding what so ever. Only issue is the directions. I'm not an electrical guy, so the instructions were at times stupid and redundant. After all was done, and I hooked everything up, they didnt work. The instructions show you what wires go where, so it really isn't that hard. Yet nothing worked. I had a specialist look at it and he made me pay 147 dollars to "fix" what I did wrong. I got the car back the other day, everything was the same. You know how I could tell? It still was tied off with my electrical tape in the same spot. Every wire was in the same spot and it took the specialist an hour and a half to look at it, wave a magic stick, and pfff, it now works. Now the only thing he could have changed was the wires that went into the plug that goes into the relay. But that was hooked up by hella, and thats the only solution. If so, hella has some good cheap lights, but man, the hookup is retarded (even when its done right)."

Bright lights less bucks

"Just installed a set of these and I'm impressed on how bright these lights are. The lights fill in the areas that my stock headlights miss. Dark roads are now more safe and visible to drive on. Installation was easy. Only thing difficult was finding a drill bit large enough for the switch. A dremel would work nicely."

"i just put the lights on my jeep cherokee and it makes a huge difference in night time and off road driving. the instructions wear kind of lacking, but with basic know how in cars one should be able to do it in a couple of hours."

"The first night I turned the Hella 500s on I was surprised by how bright they were. I used to have a set of similar-sized Bosch lights; these are much brighter and complement my Hella 4000s nicely."

"The installation was fairly easy just time consuming. Light are very bright. I was expecting somewhat of a spraypattern but more of a spotlight. Very impressed otherwise. Seem very durable."

"After having completely rewired the headlights and fog lights on my wife's Mercedes 300CE using Euro lights, heavy guage wire and multiple relays, I was delighted to find everything I needed to install the Hella driving lights in one complete kit. It was easy and they worked great to provide the additional off-road lighting I was looking for on my Toyota 4-Runner."

"Well built, solid German made Lamp. Great looking switch that lights up Green. Excellent instructions and plenty of wires included. When I installed my Hella 500 one of the Bulbs was bad... I called AutoAnything and they send me one the same day... Great Light and Excellent Customer Service... Sergio NY"

"Installed the lights on my teenage son's Westin Safari Light bar as a surpruse gift. He loves the look and I love the safety of extra lighting on country roads. Somewhat electrically challenged, I managed to install the wiring harness with interior switch in about 2 hours. More detail on the wiring diagram could have reduced the installation time by half."

"This is a very nice set of driving lights. I put them on my new Mini Cooper instead of the dealer installed units ($800). They look considerably better than the factory version. The kit is nice quality. It is complete with the harness, switch, relay, and covers. The instuctions were adequate. It did take several hours to install, mostly related to the mechanical mounting on the Mini. I am very satisfied with this product and feel I came out $700 ahead of the dealer!"

"They are good lights, Thayer bright. They are allot better then my headlights. I had to cut the bumper cover up allot to get them to fit on but the big lights cover the holes up alright it probably didn't help that my bumper was bent up too. I can see the road though now. The instructions suck they're like Lego instructions."
