"I bought the Hella FF-50's for my BMW K1200LTC (motorcycle) to compliment the pitiful high beam. These lights throw out a tremendous amount of light for their size. I have them mounted forward & just under each mirror. This creates a wide spread of light to both sides & far down the road.
At first I was a bit unhappy in the fact that you have to fabricate your own wiring harness, but this is actually a good thing. Unlike with a premade harness, you aren't resticted in where you locate your relay, etc. along the harness. Nore do you have to bundle up, or cut, the remainder of the wiring. Be sure to take the time & solder the wires onto the terminals"

"Very high quality product. Good lighting in the ditches, I put them on a Honda ST1300 Sport Touring motorcycle. Linked the switch to the high beams and everything works great. Only con: I didn't buy them sooner..."

"The installation would have been better except the wiring diagram was poor as far as the switch is concerned. It was trial and error before I could figure out how to wire the switch. The switch should have some marks or emblems on them with the diagram to identify where the wires are to be connected"

"Installed on my ST1100 forks. These lights were far brighter than my stock headlight.
Wish I'd spent the $80 on these instead of going through 2 sets of cheapies from Wally World.

"I needed some additional high-beam light for my BMW R1200GS. There are many, many aftermarket driving lights available for such applications, however the Hella FF50 comes very highly rated by members of my local owners club. After installing them, I must agree. Excellent light for dark back roads, and a great value for the $. These $80-ish lights outperform the PIAA 520’s I had used previously, for a fraction of the cost."

"The Hella FF50 Driving Pattern is a great kit. The install went well since the included bracket is fairly versatile. The beam is fairly narrow and completely blows away my low and high beams. They are probably one of the best driving lights for the price if space is an issue.
The kit comes with a switch, relay, wiring, and connectors. The wiring is about 14 gauge, but I decided to switch it out to 10 gauge to ensure safety. The kit also didn't come with a fuse, so I picked up an inline fuse holder and a 15amp ATC fuse.
The kit took me about 6 hours total to install. It could be done in half the time, but I mounted to my crash bumper which was a huge pain to drill."

"The lights are a excellent value and the mounting hardware was very easy to use, therefore making the aiming of the lights very easy. The lights put out the same amount of light that much more expensive lights do. I would recommend these lights to anyone in the market for a great set of lights at a excellent price. Fast shipping by Autoanything.com was hard to beat."

"Time has changed. This light kit comes in a kit where you have o terminate the connector your self. unlike the older days where light kits come with wire bundle and you just plug it in.
the advantage : you can use the exact length of cable. No more having to loop the extra wire or to splice the short cable/ wire. B/c a prepackage wire length for a SUV is going to be too long for a subcompact car.
The disadvantage, You have to terminate and crimp the cable connector.
The light it self is incredible. Without lens and only with FreeForm reflector the light has a very good light cutoff and light distributions. Amazing.
Do not spend 3x as much to get PIAA . save your money and get this. This is also a very popular light for Bike rider as auxillary light. either fog or driving.
I recomend fog light for daily use in town driving.
FF50 Fog light could be use in town and would not blind the other driver and would light up wide swath of road in front of you. nake sure to read the alignment procedures.
FF50 driving light would be best with high beam."

"This is the second set of Hella FF50 lights I have purchased. They are in use on motorcycles one a street bike used for long distance travel and the second is for a dual purpose bike used in the woods as well as on the street. The FF50's are very durable and a super value as compared to Piaa they are as burable and seem to produce more useful light when compared to the Piaa moto light."

"Converted an older motorcycle with an HID H4 kit; used a single fairing-mounted FF50 to add punch and reach to the high beam.
Easy installation, excellent lighting... the 20° "driving" beam pattern is a perfect match for the wide, flat HID low."

"I mounted my FF 50's on a 2005 Kawasaki Concours, on the lower radiator and fairing mount bolts. They really do a great job of illuminating the roadway in front of me and the roadsides, giving me a preview of what I might be experiencing soon. I often ride at night, so I wanted extra lighting to give me more comfort / confidence. These Hella FF 50's were just what the doctor ordered!"

"I thought the headlights on my sport/touring motorcycle were very good already, but these small driving lights have doubled the light output. I'm convinced that this is the best light kit available for the money. HIDs would be brighter but cost ten times as much."

"Lights mount and work great. I had to wire things specifically for the motorcycle, I wanted them to only function when the ignition is on and the engine is running. With the ignition on and the engine cranking, the lights are off. Once the alternator produces normal output, the lights will come on. What I really wanted was one driving light and one fog light. Unfortunately I couldn't purchase a split set like that so I chose two driving lights. My goal is to make the motorcycle more conspicuous to other drivers, I avoid driving at night when possible."
