Love the light bar, it looks GREAT on the Truck. ### READ THE POSTS BEFORE INSTALLATION AND TEST THE LIGHT BAR BEFORE INSTALLING. I READ A FEW POSTS INDICATING THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR THE WIRING HARNESS TO BE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BUT THEY WERE INCORRECT. I DID NOT HEED THESE WARNINGS AND INSTALLED AS THE INSTRUCTIONS CALLED FOR. I HAD TO TAKE BACK OFF (PAIN IN THE RUMP) AND TURN AROUND AS THE LIGHTS WERE EITHER WIRED INCORRECTLY OR THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG. Still love the bar.

First, it's almost 1/2" wide, which makes it tough to install on some vehicles. The mounting area on the truck isn't wide enough to truly mount it. Second, the directions are wrong. They indicate the lightbar should be mounted with the wiring on the passenger side. On my truck ('12F150), that makes the turn signals backwards. When you signal right, you get a left blinker on the bar. So you've got to mount the bar with the wiring on the driver's side. I'd strongly suggest everybody plug the unit in BEFORE mounting and try it to make sure it's how your truck needs it to be. Third, it's not very bright. I've got bars on 2 different motorcycles from another company. They are MUCH brighter than this one and they do the same things, tail, brake and signal. So, while it's not a bad unit, it has room for improvement.

I bought this for my new 2011 F150 after I got rear ended after owning the truck for only five days! Damn kids and their text phones! Fortunately, very minor damage - this time. Hoping this will call attention to the fact that I AM STOPPED NOW! Easy install, just plugged in to the factory trailer harness. I chose not to splice into the back up lamp wiring on my new truck, hence the white LEDs do not operate. Plug this in before you install it - the directions were backwards for my application! Seems a little flimsy, and had to add additional two way tape for my application. We will see how it holds up. Overall am satisfied with purchase.

The light is beautiful. Very bright. If ur just gonna plug it into your existing trailer 4-Way your good to go. If you plan on directly wiring it into your harness (as I did) you will have to cut and splice each wire, as the wires that are attached to the light are such a small gauge, a "quick connecting" wiring splicing device will not work. The existing truck wires are a much larger gauge wire, and therefore, the quick connectors (the kind that fit over the wire and snap) will not pierce the lights wire and make a good connection. I had to cut and splice each of the five wires (I have a light that has reverse) with butt type connections and crimp the lights wires into one side of the splice. If your not good with wiring, or knows someone who is good you may have a problem getting this wired in correctly. Again, after all was said and done I am happy with the light, it works exactly as stated and would buy it again. PAY ATTENTION TO THE REVIEW ABOVE HERE SOMEWHERE...THE DIRECTIONS ARE REVERSED WHEN IT COMES TO WHICH WAY TO PLACE THE LIGHT ON THE TRUCK TO HAVE THE CORRECT TURN SIGNAL ON THE CORRECT SIDE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE BACK OF UR TRUCK, THE WIRES GO ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OR LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUCK. JUST PLUG IT IN TO YOUR HITCH WIRES BEFORE U MOUNT IT AND TEST IT...VERY IMPORTANT.

Putco Tailgate light is far better than my previous one which lasted for almost five years and has only one year warranty against Putco with life time which is excellent I hope it will out last my vechicle. One thing that I am disappointed is that installation guide is wrong and spend a lot of time in installing. The installation guide shows hardness is on the right which the opposite on my vechicle so after every thing neatly installed the directional signal was the opposite, so I have to un-mount the light bar turn it 180 degrees now its fine after all the trouble. But I still rated "GOOD".

A nice product but installation was a little troublesome. Installed as directed with the wiring harness to the right side (passenger side) only to discover the harness wiring was crossed from the factory, left turn signal was "crossed" over to the right turn signal. Since I installed the light bar with double stick tape had to crawl under the truck to rewire the light bar harness; once completed lights look great. Certainly has kept the tailgators off my bumper and plan to one on every truck I own.
