Looked at many...punched different one & it didn't last 5 months. The quality of the plasmaglow is superior to any I've seen. VERY bright! So far so good!

The light bar arrived as expected after ordering. It was packaged fine for the shipment. The light was wired up with ribbon cable (that is fine, just not what I was expecting). I had read all the reviews about it being difficult to wire up. I found that my truck's wiring required wiring to front turn signals and third brake light at back of cab. This was only a minor inconvenience. I soldered all connections and wrapped with rubber tape. I did not hook up the running light, I like it being hidden until brake or turn signal is applied. The one thing that disappointed me was when I went to mount per instructions; I found that the light covered the hole to lower my spare tire. After looking and thinking I mounted the light to the bottom of the tailgate instead of to the truck under the tailgate. The lights are flush with the outer edge of the tailgate and look great! If this one ever goes out I am definitely getting another one, just don't plan on hooking this up in one afternoon, it will take you a while if you want to do it right.

I had a old style Plasma Glow with just red LED lights. I wanted to upgrade. I purchased the Plasma Glow with amber turn lights. I followed the "instructions to a tee" and could NOT get the lights to work properly. The instruction stated to "HARD WIRE" the light strip to the vehicle and to NOT use the trailer connection. After some time I decided to ignore the instructions to hard wire the unit and used the wiring connection adapter attached from the old unit. It worked perfectly.

Product is very nice. I just wich the instructions were a little more clear on where to land all the wires. I have to do some re-wiring as a result. Otherwise it looks good.

My rating is based on the purchase and vehicle/model fit for my 2009 Ford F-150. When you pay top dollar for a product you expect the manufacturer to provide good truck model fit instructions. The instructions had no models listed and 2 categories. One "most vehicles" and "fewer trucks' which my popular model fell into. After trying every wiring configuration we found my model needed the optional $30.00 trailer plug controller. Very disappointed in plasmaglow's lack of homework for the price.

Ordered the flat plug adapter with the bar. Required that the 7 wires from the adapter be crimped to the 7 wires from the light bar, That would of been fine except the 4 pin hitch adapter then required you to hard wire a 12 V line and hard wire the reverse light instead of supplying a 5 pin flat with reverse and pulling the 12 v from the tailight. Who cares if it lights up during the day. The really need to simplify the installation, I never could get it to work properly. The other problem is it came as 2 pieces with the wires coming out of both pieces and joined in the center. This means the wires show under the tail gate. Ended up ordering a PUTCO light bar. One piece construction with a 4 pin adapter that worked perfectly out of the box.

product looks great but the instructions are poor, go to plasma glows site and you can look at the same instructions that come with the unit. I bought the trailer hitch plug thinking that would eliminated me having to cut wires that go to my tail light. but you still have to cut to get a constant 12v and if you want reverse lights. So save the money and forget the trailer connection. I had to get someone to do this.

Many people ask where I bought them from or were they difficult to hook up? Adds visual to the truck all around is led lights along with the amber/white side running light.
