These lights fit the factory placement perfectly. The wiring harness was very easy to use except the distance between the lights was too far for the harness to reach. I had to add a 6 inch length for the harness to reach the light. Subaru makes getting to teh lights space difficult as the inner wheel well cover has to be partially removed to access it. The space is tight making the adjustment (aiming) of the llights difficult. Those are Subaru problems though, not the light. The lights look great & are much brighter than a different model I put on my Ford F150. The halo is realyy cool but like others have said, it has to be pretty dark to really see it. Overall, these are a great light & I am very pleased with the end result.

I did a ton of research & thanks to other peoples reviews i came to the conclusion of the Hella 500ff's were right for me. They may not be as bright as the 100w or HID lights, but keep in mind that you are only paying a fraction of what those kits costs. From other readers, you can easily upgrade them to 100w. One suggestion i will make is replacing the light covers they come with. I think those are butt ugly! They do make stone sheild covers for them that look much more natural on the lights (and just cooler). You can find them by googling "hella 500 grills". I had to replace the bolts they came with to longer ones to accomodate the bull bar on my subaru forester, but couldn't be happier.
