Better than Halogen?

Installed these in my 1994 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo to replace halogen bulbs in the factory projector low beams. The beam color and spread in the forward direction is better than halogen, but the visibility to the sides of the car at night is terrible. The bulb has a very low projection cone. I'm guessing that it would be really great with a non-projector style headlight or foglight, but is not suitable for this application at all.
A Step Up but nothing mindblowing

I used a headlight restoration kit and figured I should get new bulbs as well. After putting in the Ion Spark White (3800K) Putco bulbs, there's definitely an increase in visibility. The biggest change is how the headlights reflect off of things at a significantly farther distance and now I can see people on sidewalks at night when streetlights are dim or nonexistent before I get right up on them. Also if considering two brightness levels, get the brighter one.
