"The original OEM dimming mirror failed with the fluid material leaking out over time. Thus the wiring for a new unit was already in place. Had some dificulty removing the original mirror where the clip retainer was hard to pry off. Wiring harnesses between the old and new units were not compatible so there was some splicing and testing required. Reinstallation was very simple with the new mount utilizing the wedge plate on the windshield. It is a very fast reacting dimmer mirror. Better than the OEM. Would recommend to others."

Not quite a drop in replacement

"As I read it, this mirror was advertised as an OEM "drop in" replacement. It is not. It looks fine in the car, but required modification of the original connector to make fit."

"Great quality product that installs in minutes, and performs great. The installation kit comes with a small and med guage wire quick splice power wire conector, and the ground has an eyelet connector on it. The easiest aftermarket item I have ever installed."

"This is a great mirror. Looks great and performs well. It was somewhat difficult to install in my 2008 Honda Pilot EX-L. The mirror mounts on the windshield without too much trouble and that part went quickly. Wiring was a different story. I had to find the Honda instructions online for installing the mirror and connecting to the 12v source. For the Honda Pilot with the moonroof the 12v source is located under the headliner near the passenger's side sun visor. To get to it you have to remove the map light assembly and the passenger side visor. Even then it was very difficult to access the wires that I needed. In hind sight it probably would have been easier to run the wires all the way to the fuse panel for the 12v source. I think this mirror would be a snap to install in vehicles where the wiring is more accessible. I'm very happy with the mirror overall. Hope this helps someone!"

"Had real problems with the mounting kit for the cam style mirror adapter. Had to find screws to fit and cut threads properly. Also directions and pictures were vague.Mirror should dim a bit darker and activate bettet under low light conditions. Other than all that, I love it."

"This mirror is way more than I expected. It dims automatically and goes back to clear when there are no headlights to blind you. No more fumbling around with a clumsy lever which is either full on or full off. It was a breeze to install in my 1994 Corvette. I simply removed the header cover, removed the old mirror and spliced in the new one. It was very simple. The whole process took about 30 minutes, including removal and replacement of the header trim. The quality is outstanding. The color when dimmed is a nice blue which is easy on the eyes. The field of view is larger than my old mirror. I would highly recommend this mirror."

Great direct replacement mirror

"I ordered this mirror from AutoAnything because my factory mirror stopped working. Though this mirror looks a tiny tiny bit different than my OEM mirror (a single power button instead of the Ford "Off" and "Auto" buttons, but the mirror works as well as, and as fast as, the ORM mirro), it is none the less a direct "drop in" replacement item. A harness is included if your car doesn't have an auto dimmer already installed, but the harness is exactly the same as the factory harness which means the mirror will plug in the same way as your OEM mirror (at least it was in my case with a correct year Ford style harness). Total time to install was approx. 5 minutes."

"This mirror works great. It was very easy to install. Total instalation time took about 45 minutes to run the wire and have the mirror operational. Get the wire cover as well if you want yours to look factory equiped."

"Now that I got the correct mirror for my Mustang Convertible, all is well! It works beautifully, auto-dims when cars approach and the compass and temp features work great too. The maplights come on automatically when I unlock the car and when the door is opened! Very pleased"

"I have an 03 Pontiac Vibe GT that has been an awesome car. I didn't like the way cars lights affected my eyesight during night driving, so I ordered the Gentex K2 Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror and had it installed. It works beautifully, automatically taking care of those blinding lights. It's bigger than the stock mirror and provides a classier, panoramic view of what is happening behind me. I believe that I'm a safer driver for having this new mirror. Love it. I will have the same on every other car I own."

"Absolutely great value. The mirror performs just as promised. No more blind moments because of high SUV lights. Really easy to install too. Just screw off the old mirror and put on the new one. Run a cable and plug into any 12V source. Literally 30 minutes to install. Great buy, I highly recommend it."

"I have a 1998 Buick Lesabre that I was replacing the rear mirror. This mirror was the exact replacement for this make and model. I made no changes to the wiring . The mirror plugged in to the existing wiring. Perfect replacement!!!"

"The K2 Auto-Dimming Mirror is FANTASTIC!! I was tired of bright lights blazing into my eyes at night and this sure did the trick! It reacts immediately to increased light without over darkening. The best part is it works in the day too with any beams of sun that might shine from behind as well! It's very easy to install...just make sure and get the adjustable wire hiding covers....yes they are extra but otherwise you'll be looking at bare wires from the top of your mirror to the headliner. It just slides into place..no glueing or tools needed..just be sure to get the one that expands to the proper length...two are available. Happy driving!! Mike"
