"This was a replacement for a seven-year-old defective mirror (made by another manufacturer). This one is much larger than the one it replaces and is satisfacory in every way. We are klutzes, so I can't speak to the ease of installation: our local auto stero shop installed for $45, rather quickly."

"I found the easier path for the install was to run the temp sensor leads down the passenger side and thru the firewall. Remove the battery tray for easier access in the engine compartment. The factory harness to the mirror location has +12v and ground."

"This mirror is better than the one that comes from the factory by Nissan. It was much easier to install than I thought. Gentex makes it simple to do without being a professional installer. Instructions were simple to follow, but one needs to follow just as the instructions say in order to make it simple. The mirror is manufactured in good quality and the finished results after installation make it look as if it came with the vehicle. Thanks Gentex for a great product. And buy from AutoAnything.com they were the least expensive. Great price and free shipping!"

"The Compass appears to be much more accurate then the factory installed unit in our previous vehicle and the temp gage is more stable then the one built into the Altima, less effected by temporary temp changes. A great functioning unit."

"My 2007 Honda CR-V came with a plain rear-view mirror. I have always wanted a compass and outside temperature gauge and when my husband told me about the Gentex K21 Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror w/Compass and Temp I couldn't wait to get one. It is everything you say it is and more! The auto-dimming feature is fantastic for night driving and having the compass and temperature right there on the mirror is perfect. Excellent Mirror

"Installation was so easy on my 1999 V6 camry. The hardest thing I have to do was remove the front wheel cover since I have to jack the car and remove the tires. I did not even have to drill a hole on the firewall since I was easily able to snake the wires through the door hinges. After installation of the temperature probe, the mirror fit in nicely on the button of the original mirror and can be tightened with a star screwdriver. I connected the power to an unused fuse (seat heater, which my car did not have any but had a switched power) with a universal connector that I bought from Auto Zone. The mirror worked immediately but the compass took a few minutes to work. I had to drive around the block as per the instruction, and worked after I got back in my driveway. Excellent item and easy to install"

Great mirror

"Love the mirror. I installed it on an 02 Chevy Silverado. It looks and functions great. Installation was fairly easy. Tools need were nothing out of the ordinary except a #15 torx bit small enough to fit into the plastic sun visor mounting brackets. Also, at least on the Chevy, the mirror takes a #15 torx. The mirror was a snap to remove and replace. My only minor complaint is the directions. This mirror can be used in many different vehicles, so the directions were somewhat generic."

"Originally, I purchased a JC Whitney Auto-dimming mirror. I was NOT going to put that thing in my new GTO, so I ordered the GENTEX. It is absolutely perfect! Easy to install, and looks dead stock. "This is a great product mainly because its obvious that it is the same one installed by vehicle manufacturers. I'm pretty sure I've seen this mirror in most GM products on the road. It's a great unit and was fairly easy to install. I had help from a web site that was specific to my vehicle, but I love the functionality of this mirror."

"It would get 5 stars but you have to buy the piece that hides the wiring separately ($9). Other than that is was pretty easy to install for a novice and it works like a champ."
