"I have had a few new cars over the years and got used to the compass and temp on the mirror as well as the auto dimming feature. I recently bought an 05 Mustang and it did not have this feature, so I got it here and I am very happy."

"I may have assumed that this mirror would be a one for one installation. The PT cruiser I own is a dream cruiser, series four, convertible, "High Output Turbo", with an electronic mirror factory installed, but it doesn't have auto dimming. It will take some disassembly to install, but I an capable to perform the installation. One feature that will not work with this mirror is the Map lights when the doors are open. Why no wiring diagram??"

"First, installation was a breeze factory clip plugs right into the Gentex( only thing extra that needed connecting was temp....5 mins to install)I do alot of early....early morning driving to work. Before the gentex k31 i found myself constantly ajusting my mirror to stop the cars behind me from blinding me (because we all know those people that have their brights on and have no clue) now with the auto dimming, brights are not a problem anymore.....I NOW CAN DRIVE! NOT EVADE BRIGHTS!"

"The mirror was easily installed by a local installer in 45 minutes. Everything works as expected, though my wife found the dimming to make the distance between vehicles harder to judge. I'm sure that this is just something that you need to get used to. Overall, good product."

"This mirror looks and works great! It took a while to hook up but the instructions helped out quite a bit. Hooking up the powers is almost identical to hooking up a stereo system's power (same wires). The compass is very accurate and the map lights offer a pleasant yellow/green soft LED light which helps reduce the effects on your night vision (as opposed to the old standard white lights)."

"Read all the reviews and decided to buy this mirror, It took me a little longer than normal to install this into my 05 Colorado. I had to call the tech support on clarity of the wiring. They helped me out in a very short time period with excellent instructions. Once installed everyting worked great. As other people have stated the map lights are dimmer than the factory ones, but other than that everything is great."

"The K31 isn't listed as compatible with my 79 GMC. However, I went to my local Ace Hardware store to get a replacement set screw similar to the OEM mirror's, and it fits perfectly. The map lights are not terribly bright, but they are effective. Get the "optional" cable cover."

Awsome product - manual and support lacking

"Found the mirror to be of excellent quality. Was wondering about the dome light function of the car, and if it would still work. This wire is on pin 6 in the factory harness. No mention of that function in the manual. I checked ignition, constant and ground wire locations - same as factory harness. Emailed vendor for advice on dome light. Since it was the weekend, got no response. So I went for it, and plugged the mirror into the factory harness. All functions including the dome light work perfectly. Plugged the temp sensor into the empty pins 4 and 5 of the factory harness. Got an answer from my email on Monday - saying the dome light was not supported, did not work, and to not use the factory harness.... Oh well. Glad I did not listen to their tech support. Great product. It was my wife's Valentines gift. She loves it.Also the vendor needs to update their model year support. Indicated the mirror worked on Sebrings up to 2004. It worked perfect on our 2006. They could also include a basic wiring diagram along with the printed instructions."

"This was a replacement mirror for the stock no frills mirror on my '95 Probe GT. All the features work great. The only drawback was the installation. I paid $250 for a shop to install the mirror but they did a great job."

"I recently purchased the Gentex k31 Auto-Dimming rear view mirror w/compass,temp and lights. I love the display of the temperature and the compass. Map lights come in handy. The Auto-dimming feature is especially good. Now, when a vehile is driving with their high beams on, my eyes are not bothered. Overall, I'm very happy with my Gentex k31. This is for sure, a touch of class in my Mazda3 itouring."

"Installation was easy on a 2003 base Impala. Wiring was already in place for map lights, I just positioned temp sensor and ran wiring. Attached sensor wires at #4 & 5 terminal in existing connector. All done, about an hour."

"I titled my review seamless because it was. From ordering online to having my local automotive electronics dealer install the mirror. Everything went 1-2-3 with no problems. My electronics dealer was so impressed with the mirror that they wanted to know how they could purchase them to sell. And the best part the mirror performs just great. George M."

What a luxury mirror for Nissan

"My Altima GLE didn't equip with Auto-Dimming Mirror and didn't have Compass and Temperature displays in the car. I love to upgrade my car all the time. So, I bought the Gentex K31 Auto-Dimming Mirror, which it comes with all the great features I needed exactly. Now, my car looks even more luxury inside. I love the compass and temperature display, and the special color reading lights at night! I love this mirror! The installation was not as easy as I thought. I had the professionals from Best Buy installed for me for additional $100, where other places charge at least $150 to do the job. It took them about 1.5 hours to complete the whole installation. I highly recommend people take it to the professionals if you are not sure what you are doing because it requires some hard wiring and taking panels out and puting everything back nicely."
