"I have had a few new cars over the years and got used to the compass and temp on the mirror as well as the auto dimming feature. I recently bought an 05 Mustang and it did not have this feature, so I got it here and I am very happy."

"This is the 3rd GENTEX mirror I have installed in a vehicle I own. This is a option that I can't live without in cars that I own. Even my 72 Chevy pick-up has one. Great quality; easy to install and very functional."

"Very disappointed that the wire cover was not included and is an option piece. This piece should accompany the K31 mirror for appearance, open wires showing is in exceptable for the price paid for this product."

"The temperature tends to read 4 degrees high. The auto dimming feature should be standard on every new vehicle. The compass works fine."

"This mirror was put on my 1984 El Camino. What a great change from the original manual mirror. Compass auto-corrected well. Thermometer is accurate and resolution of mirror is very good even w/ photochromics. I added the driver and passenger light upgrade option which works fine, but a little boost on lumen power with LED's might make this mirror perfect."

"This is the mirror to get if you have a '98 Sebring LXi! It connects to the stock cable/plug no problem. You just have to run the temp probe if you want the temp, otherwise it's fantastic! MUCH less expensive than OEM replacement mirror ($535 to $585 for Chrysler replacement)"

"I may have assumed that this mirror would be a one for one installation. The PT cruiser I own is a dream cruiser, series four, convertible, "High Output Turbo", with an electronic mirror factory installed, but it doesn't have auto dimming. It will take some disassembly to install, but I an capable to perform the installation. One feature that will not work with this mirror is the Map lights when the doors are open. Why no wiring diagram??"

"First, installation was a breeze factory clip plugs right into the Gentex( only thing extra that needed connecting was temp....5 mins to install)I do alot of early....early morning driving to work. Before the gentex k31 i found myself constantly ajusting my mirror to stop the cars behind me from blinding me (because we all know those people that have their brights on and have no clue) now with the auto dimming, brights are not a problem anymore.....I NOW CAN DRIVE! NOT EVADE BRIGHTS!"

"The mirror was easily installed by a local installer in 45 minutes. Everything works as expected, though my wife found the dimming to make the distance between vehicles harder to judge. I'm sure that this is just something that you need to get used to. Overall, good product."

"This mirror looks and works great! It took a while to hook up but the instructions helped out quite a bit. Hooking up the powers is almost identical to hooking up a stereo system's power (same wires). The compass is very accurate and the map lights offer a pleasant yellow/green soft LED light which helps reduce the effects on your night vision (as opposed to the old standard white lights)."

"Read all the reviews and decided to buy this mirror, It took me a little longer than normal to install this into my 05 Colorado. I had to call the tech support on clarity of the wiring. They helped me out in a very short time period with excellent instructions. Once installed everyting worked great. As other people have stated the map lights are dimmer than the factory ones, but other than that everything is great."

GREAT product - install somewhat challenging

"The K31 isn't listed as compatible with my 79 GMC. However, I went to my local Ace Hardware store to get a replacement set screw similar to the OEM mirror's, and it fits perfectly. The map lights are not terribly bright, but they are effective. Get the "optional" cable cover."
