"Excellet Product! Exactly as described! Installation instructions for Highlander should include removal of OEM mirror as it is fastened by a spring clip not a screw. Wiring is super simple if you have an overhead console, no need to route wires all the way to the kick panel, just tap in to existing wiring above console. Great Product! Already ordered one for my Tundra!"

"As long as you have a test light or "Fluke" meter, it is a no brainer. Hook the ground to the body with an exsisting body ground or make your own, then find an IGN ONLY wire with your tester and splice it with the provided connector. EASY!"

"mirror is good, the mount is not as tight as I would like it, over tighten it could crack the windshield, your web site is misleading when I order the K5 I assume I was getting the same mirror that was in the picture (compass/temp) apart from that its a good product."

"My Audi A6 was equipped with an auto-dimming mirror, but no compass. By the time the second OEM mirror failed, I was ready for a different mirror. The Gentex K5 mirror functions as well or better than my original mirror and offers a compass, which I find very helpful when driving in a large urban area.
My only suggestion is that the installation instructions offer more guidance on how to adapt existing mirror wiring to connect with the new mirror. I took my old mirror apart and found that two of the four wires were labeled "ignition" and "ground." I then cut the wires on the old wiring connector and spliced these two into the new connector. It worked perfectly. This suggestion might be helpful to other purchasers and it certainly is better than the trial and error method."

"I purchased this mirror to replace the OEM mirror on my '02 Nissan Maxima. Now my Maxima came with an auto-dimming mirror, but it didn't have the built-in compass so I decided to replace it with the Gentex K5.
This mirror is a simply plug and play, no real installation required other than removing the old mirror. Here I was thinking I had to remove trim pieces andrun some wiring, but not with this particular model.
The Gentex works just as well as my OEM mirror. Like that one I only wished that the dimming was slightly more powerful, but the compass works like a charm."

"Easy installation. Once I figured out how to remove the original mirror in my Subaru Forester, it was very easy. The removal instructions for foreign car mirrors were included on another sheet which somehow became separated from the main packet. The OEM wiring plugged right into the new mirror without any modifications."

"The rearview mirror in my '99 Grand Prix recently started leaking dimming fluid so I decided to replace it with a Gentex mirror since I'd heard such good things about them. This K5 mirror is a great replacement and was so easy to install. I pulled the existing wires out of the stock mirror connector and installed them into the Gentex connector (after removing all of the wires from it), mounted the mirror using the stock windshield button, and covered up the wires using the stock cover. Ten minutes start to finish... great product!"
