This mirror does it all, auto-dimming, outside temperature, compass and map lights in one unit. It is relatively easy to install. Getting the wiring through the dash is the hardest part. Ergonomics are very good. Performance is great.

The auto dimming feature works great, as does the temperature sensor and compass on the unit I purchased. When backing out of the garage on a bright, sunny day the mirror dims quite a bit which is unwanted in most cases. But there is a handy disable button on the front of the mirror to temporarily turn off the dimming feature (which you won't need if it's real sunny, anyway). You can then re-enable it when you're outside. Or if you forget to re-enable it, a power cycle of the mirror (turning the car off and then back on again) will reset the dimming feature to 'enabled' (which can also be annoying if you want to turn it off and actually leave it off ... each time the mirror powers up the dimming feature is enabled, whether it was previously disabled or not ... there is no memory there). All in all, I'm very happy with this device.

If you are decent with your cars electrical wiring this is easy. Must know the power and ground cables. Connections are not too hard and it works great. Looks very nice.

I bought the Compass, Temperature and Map Light model to replace the manual dimming mirror in my '07 TrailBlazer. The install surprised me in how fast I got it done - even placing the Temperature sensor under the front bumper. First time I've had an auto-dimming mirror and it's definitely improved my ability to see at night. Temp and compass are quite accurate. Great product.

The CIPA mirror is great and the buying/delivery process was very good. However, the plastic button mouting kit I purchased was not good - one of the sides of the plastic button broke-off after I had glued the button to the windshield and while I was attaching the mirror to it. I suggest just going with the metal button provided.

I have a 2002 Camero convertible with a map light in the mirror. Will my current wiring harness hook up to your self-dimming mirror with map lights and compass.
