Gentex installation

Reviewed By Kenneth R (Berthoud, CO) Reviewed for a 2005 Chrysler 300 —2/23/2012 7:56 AM

The wiring diagram appeared to be done by a high school student. It was incomplete, misleading and confusing. Without the internet to help there is no possible way to figure out what the wires should be connected to. There is no explaination for what the miniture switch is for, that has two wire coming out of it. It's anybody's guess whether it should be switched or not. Does everybody know what a reverse trigger is. It doesn't say to hook it to plus or minus 12V or even what it should be hooked to. In summary the installation instructions are horrible. Routing the wires was a nightmare without the cars service manual. The internet is your only hope of ever doing the installation yourself.

5 minute installation and works perfectly

Reviewed By Dennis M (Stillwater, OK) Reviewed for a 1999 Ford F-150 —5/4/2016 4:49 AM

Installing this item was like falling off the end of a log. Installation was done in 5 minutes. The mirror was made by the same original equipment manufacturer as made the original mirror in my 2000 Chevy Impala so the bases were identical. We love the map light feature of this mirror and the fact that it is auto on when the interior dome lights are on because you plug it into the electrical system like the original mirror in the vehicle. Great value and easy install in my case.
