The rearview mirror in my '99 Grand Prix recently started leaking dimming fluid so I decided to replace it with a Gentex mirror since I'd heard such good things about them. This K5 mirror is a great replacement and was so easy to install. I pulled the existing wires out of the stock mirror connector and installed them into the Gentex connector (after removing all of the wires from it), mounted the mirror using the stock windshield button, and covered up the wires using the stock cover. Ten minutes start to finish... great product!

Just replaced powered greening mirror. Easy replacement as long as you have an Allen wrench that fits. 3 minutes and done. Descent quality for $20. Just installed, so no feedback yet on durability. It appears like it will last a few years.

"for all of you that have a GM car with a wire drop from you old mirror (mine was a 1999 Grand Prix) i was able to glue on the new mount (its fast so make sure you got the right spot and the button is pointed in the right direction) you can skip using the supplied wire harnes and just snip off the little tab on the wire harnes from your current wire drop and plug it in, even though your old mirror has three wires (mine just dimmed) the new mirror has compass it was all the same (power and ground) there was no need to use a new wire harness ..... i just made sure my current plug was pointed correctly and i snipped off the little lock tab that is usaully on these connecters and plugged right in dont worry it wont come out unless you plan on ripping it out. by the way my old mirror started to look like a wave machine but still worked fine then one one day it was just hanging there like a broken arm .... pretty crazy how that glue lasted this long!" —Allan W from Dowagiac, MI bought a Gentex Rear View Mirror Wire Cover for a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix.
