Great mirror

Reviewed By Joe B (CHICAGO, IL) Reviewed for a 2008 Subaru Forester —12/1/2014 8:24 AM

This was purchased for a client. Every thing works well & looks great, but the removal of the original mirror bracket to the windshield was a nightmare and an average person would either break the windshield or would not be able to install. An adaptor kit or proper info on this condition is a must!!!

Good Quality but instructions are not complete

Reviewed By Joe J (Matthews, NC) Reviewed for a 2002 Subaru Outback —2/2/2012 6:07 AM

I ordered this mirror for my 2002 Subaru Outback. The instructions in the kit on how to remove the OEM mirror fail to mention that some of the mirrors are installed by cam-lock. By twisting the whole mirror assembly 90 degrees, it will pop out. Also the kit includes an adapter to use the OEM cam mount but does not include instructions on how to do it. If you are not mechanically inclined or have trouble have someone help you or have a mechanic install it.

Gentex installation

Reviewed By Kenneth R (Berthoud, CO) Reviewed for a 2005 Chrysler 300 —2/23/2012 7:56 AM

The wiring diagram appeared to be done by a high school student. It was incomplete, misleading and confusing. Without the internet to help there is no possible way to figure out what the wires should be connected to. There is no explaination for what the miniture switch is for, that has two wire coming out of it. It's anybody's guess whether it should be switched or not. Does everybody know what a reverse trigger is. It doesn't say to hook it to plus or minus 12V or even what it should be hooked to. In summary the installation instructions are horrible. Routing the wires was a nightmare without the cars service manual. The internet is your only hope of ever doing the installation yourself.
