This is my second set of bars. I went from a 3 inch round to a 4 inch oval. The 4 inch oval gives a better platform to step on. These bars do stick out from the truck a good amount which helps make them easier to use. Even with only two mounts on the ends (not one in the middle) these bars support my 240lbs weight. Several reviews talk about installation taking awhile due to directions not being the best. I agree, however if you layout the hardware first it is simple.
