Description

After a hard day on the job, a good hike in the woods, or even a quick run to the convenience store, the climb in and out of your vehicle can literally become a pain in the you-know-what.

Out comes the Kodiak SideWinder Side Step to the rescue! Open your door and the SideWinder automatically greets you with easy step-up or step-down height. Close the door and the smooth drive assembly quietly and discretely tucks the truck step away.

For safety, the Kodiak SideWinder Side Step is equipped with a special clutch that stops step movement in either direction if any obstacles or resistance are encountered. The SideWinder Side Step is activated by using a door pin switch, similar to your interior light.

Installs in about an hour with some drilling. And, with the well-thought design of this automatic side step, you maintain full factory ground clearance even on un-lifted vehicles!

"Now that she can get into my Power Wagon with ease - no matter what her wardrobe. Quote: "It's not like mounting a horse anymore." I jokingly told her that these steps were her early Valentine's Day presents."

The Perfect step up

Posted on 04/22/2006 by Norris C. (Port Arthur,TX)

"After looking for just the right sort of step to get into my truck and not finding the exact type of step I had given up and decided not to put anything on my truck that looked like it was stoved pipe to fit. A friend at work lent me a auto racing catalog and while looking throuth it I saw the add for the Kodiak side winder and knew that was what I had to have. I liked the way it swings up when the door closed. I just knew I had to have it. Now that it is installed I stop and show every person on the project where I work. I couldnt ask for any thin nicer for my truck. When I drive offroad I dont have to worry about it catching on to any thing. Do I like it Yesss. Norris."

Simply Mahhhhvelous

Posted on 01/26/2006 by Matthew R. (Arcadia,CA)

"Simple instalation for an experianced mechanic with a few basic tools . The kit was complete and well designed with clear, complete and accurate instructions They are GREAT in opperation . I got 8" drops and they were perfect for my stock 05 ram 1500 . Greasing the zerks quieted the banging that makes you think something is about to roll out of the door till you get used to it . They move up and down FAST !! Great to show off . Big WOW factor in a parkinglot Im really pleased One caviot . The kit for the 02 dodge ram doesnt fit on the 05 ram . I kluged it in anyway but I had to drill and tap the main member of the frame for the rear inboard point of connection because the sheetmetal channel they indicated was nowhere near the fitting that was supposed to bolt to it .. Also the E-Brake cable forced me to mount the drivers side about 1.5 inches lower than the instructions said I should The end of the upswing is adjustable so I was able to make it swing all the way up to the body anyway and I like that its as low as it is .. In fact I mounted the passenger side low as well (still never would have reached the piece of metal it said it should if I had "followed the instructions" re. mounting heigh)"

Step Install

Posted on 12/30/2005 by Dave C. (Bellflower,CA)

"Installation was very straigtforward. Kit included everything necessary for a complete installation. Steps worked perfectly as soon as the power was run to them. Installation time for a pair was about 3 hours. These were installed on a truck with a body lift with no complications."

Installation

Posted on 12/27/2005 by Dean A. (Council Bluffs,IA)

"The units themselves work very slick, they really get noticed, and are very functional. The installation can be challenging at times, however by reading carefully, the average do-it-yourself guy can install it. It is not mentioned, until you start installation, that you will need an "insert tool" and that a disposable one may be purchased from Kodiak. I think that for the price, the tool should be included."

Kodiak step on Dodge Rumble Bee

Posted on 11/08/2005 by William L. (Carneys Pt.,NJ)

"The quality is excellent. This is the best looking step for the Rumble Bee. The Bee has a 4inch ground effects lowering cladding. I had to buy two angle brackets and cut and drill the brackets to lower the installation of the step 2.5 more inches. I found out about the step on the internet (with pictures) from others who used the step (RumbleBee.org). The Kodiak Step should be advertised and modified to fit the Rumble Bee for increased Sales."
