Description

With all the talk about wimpy hybrids in the auto world today, Putco figured they’d add a beefy, tough, truck-ready hybrid to the discussion: Putco Hybrid 5" Oval Side Step Bars.

Rather than a gutless hatchback with a $5,000 battery, Putco Hybrid 5" Oval Side Step Bars are a different kind of blend. They offer you the large-and-in-charge look of boss nerf bars, plus the spacious stepping area of a running board. Standing tough, looking great and working right—now that’s the kind of hybrid a truck guy can get used to.

Putco builds your Hybrid 5" Oval Side Step Bars from rugged chrome-plated aluminum. Custom-welded steel mounting brackets make the bars extremely sturdy, and make installation a cinch. All you need is a socket, a wrench, and an hour. Best yet, Putco backs your Hybrid 5" Oval Side Step Bars with a Lifetime Warranty. Get them today, and you can prank all of your hip neighbors by telling them you bought a hybrid.

Notes

  • Putco Hybrid 5" Oval Side Step Bars are so large, they significantly reduce the ground clearance of lowered trucks. Please select another nerf bar if you've lowered your truck.

"Great looking, solid, well engineered product. As reported in other reviews Installation instructions are close to being useless. Good thing that installation was so simple."

Strong and Beautiful

Posted on 05/19/2007 by Jeremiah F. - 2003 Dodge Ram (Fort Collins,CO)

"I shopped around a lot before I settled on the Putco Hybrid for my 2007 Tundra. It has a great stepping surface and looks fantastic. The installation was a breeze, about 1 hour. The only draw back is that it fits very close to the bottom of the doors, alot like a running board. I did not expect that, but still like them over all."

"The steps came marked wrong as to drivers/passenger side. The instruction are very poor and don't tell you that the brackets are stamped with the part# so you can tell them apart, you have to look hard to find it. Look great, hard to put on..."

Nice bars

Posted on 01/25/2007 by Michael R. - 2007 Dodge Ram (Newburgh,NY)

"These Putco Oval's really look good on the truck, there wide step width give a stable footing entering or exiting the vehicle. The instructions where a little vague, they lack detail which adds to length of time it takes to install (at least the first side). Also my kit had an entire extra set of support brackets that added to the confusion. Overall I am pleased with them, we'll just have to see how they stand up to the elements over time."

"The steps look great, very very easy to install took about 20 minutes with hand tools. Only thing I would like to see on the install sheet is the torque requirements for all the bolts. Step came to my front door in two days. Thanks for great service AutoAnything!!!"

"Easy to install (having acess to a lift helped) the brackets are somewhat long and after installation you are able to see beneath your truck, probably I will spend extra money to correct."

nice step

Posted on 10/22/2006 by Matt L. - 2005 Ford F-150 (Amarillo,TX)

"The step is very wide which is great, although the step pads are very slick when wet. The step pads are great when they arent wet! the step is really lightweight and I havent really had any problems yet. The installation was fairly easy once it was figured out (no instructions) and it just bolted right up. It looks great on the truck, and provides an awesome step area to get in the truck."
