Steelcraft 4" Premium Oval Nerf Bars Customer Reviews

Some people will try and sell you a sack of lies that size doesn’t make a difference, but it does. Anyone who’s planted his boot onto a spaghetti-thin nerf bar knows that old-school 3” round bars are a joke. For a bona fide boost up into your cockpit, you’ll want to equip your truck or SUV with Steelcraft 4” Premium Oval Nerf Bars.
Measuring in with a whopping 4” wide base, Steelcraft 4” Premium Oval Nerf Bars create a solid platform for mounting your rig. Best of all, these Premium Oval Nerf Bars sport a swing-back design that keeps the mounting hardware hidden under your chassis. They look factory installed, yet cost a fraction of dealer prices.
What’s more, Steelcraft 4” Premium Oval Nerf Bars are available in 2 trick styles: head-turning polished stainless steel (Lifetime Warranty), or imposing black powder-coated carbon steel (5-year warranty). Both styles come with custom-engineered mounting hardware for a rock solid installation without any drilling on most vehicles.
Our 100+ Steelcraft 4" Premium Oval Nerf Bars customer reviews have an average rating of 4.50 out of 5 stars. To see specific reviews about your vehicle, please select your year, make and model from the drop down above.

Easy to install (even for the rookie do it yourselfer), look great, (much better than the 3"), well built, good value. These install on the body mounts not on the back of the rocker panels,so you dont have to worry about rust if you plan to keep your truck. Have not had any noise from them like I have read others have had from other brands.Very sturdy they don't move when standing on them.

I am very pleased with my Steelcraft 4 inch Premium Oval Nerf Bars. The height of my 2013 Ram 1500 makes it a bit of a challenge to get in and out. The nerf bars provide practical assistance. Other reviews have mentioned difficulty in reading the installation instructions. Steelcraft has evidently corrected this as the instructions in my kit were easy to read and understand. The chrome nerf bars really stand out and add to the appearance of my Ram. Installation was a breeze.

Installed easily in one hour. These look great and fit perfect. I got the stainless hardware upgrade and it is nice. The wife and kid are happy they can get in and out easier. Only had them for 2 weeks but so far all is great.

Bars are as indicated. Good quality straight forward install. Did buy long torque wrench ($30 auto store) which helped a lot strongly recommend. Also went with SS hardware since live close to beach (rust) which was really nice. However, the SS bolts for the body mounts were wrong size so just reused factory. Rest of SS hardware was fine. Hard time finding consistent torque specs, so went with 55lbs which was same as needed for removal of bolts. Overall, would definitely buy again.

I wanted the Nerf Bars because I am short and it was difficult getting into my husband's truck. They arrived fairly quick. My husband installed them on his truck in no time. He said they were easy to install. They look good and sure help me. I recommended them to my son.

For the black powder coated version, is the color flat black, or is it shiny?

I know the go rhino 4000 series says it is made of .065" gauge steel. I was wondering if Steel craft was made of the same gauge. I have a 97 f150 4x4 XLT 3rd door extended cab. I dont want a gap so big that my foot or my passenger's foot will slip between the cab and the bar.

Hello. The Steelcraft is the same thickness, and the step should be wide enough that no feet should slip.
