"Everything about the experience with AutoAnything was as expected. I ordered on a Thursday night and the Nerf Bars (I call them "Chick Steps") were at my door when I got home the following Tuesday. They were easy to install, look good on the truck, not too expensive, and best of all - my wife gets in and out of the truck with no complaints."

"I ordered the Westin nerf bars on a Wednesday morning and they were delivered Friday morning (to Colorado). The bars were packed well and everything arrived in excellent condition. A few installation notes: (1) Look over the brackets when you open the package--there are left and right sides. The access to the passenger side holes was good on my DoubleCab Tundra. The bolts welded to the steel bars were a little puzzling at first, but the bars allow you to insert the bolts through the parts of the frame that are boxed. (2) The driver's side rear frame access is very limited by the gas tank, but you can definitely work the bolt and washer into the hole from the inside. Smaller hands would work better :). (3) I used thread lock on the bolts in addition to the included lock washers. After 1,000 miles everything has held tight. (4) I used a recycling tub placed at the center of the nerf bars to hold the bars in place, since I was working alone. Access is a little tight, especially when using a torque wrench, but you can reach everything without using ramps or a lift. The bars look sharp and my wife really appreciated them for easy entry/exit from the truck. They don't stick out too far, but are wide enough to use easily."

"The best thing about the Nerf Bars was the ease of installation. It was a real bolt on procedure. Simply everything lined up and if it didn't it was because of a mistake of the installer. My only complaint or perhaps suggestion would be that a rust inhabiter be added to the inside of the tubes to prevent or slow down rust formation."

"The Westin bars arrived in well thought out, secure packaging in perfect condition. I was able to install them on my 2006 Tundra in about 30 minutes. All parts fit without modification, and the directions were satisfactory. The step bars look great and add class to my truck. They are stron and flex free. They aid ingress and egress from the vehicle. I highly recommend these step bars. They are top quality, and a great value for the money."

Easy installation

Posted on 02/02/2007 by Mark L. - 2006 Toyota Tundra (Apex,NC)

"All around excellent bars. I think the step areas could be a little bit longer. I find that when I'm exiting the cab with the intent to go toward the rear of the vehicle I'm stepping near the end of the step mat. I saw one vehicle with these bars that had the step mat curled up on the end. Not sure what that's from. Otherwise - great bars, very, very easy to install."
