Tough installation

"Installation on my 2000 GMC required removing the four (4) body bolts which were needed to hold the nerf bars. Due to rust on bolt threads above nut threads, bolts would not come out. Solved problem by drilling 3/8" in body brackets in order to apply a "rust buster" to top of bolts to soften rust. If this trick did not work...nerf bars would have gone back."

"The Westin Platinum Nerf Bars arrived and we installed them on the vehicle within an our. The installation was quick and easy with very easy and thorough directions to follow. The first compliment we received was from a neighbor walking by thinking our Toyota was a Mercedes."

"These Nerf Bars replaced the old rusty factory bars and imediately dressed up the truck. The only complaint I have is that the installation directions are vague and confusing in regards to the rear mounting brackets. I initialy installed them backward. But the fit and strength of materials is very good. I'd recomend them!"

"After spending quite a while researching and trying to find just the right bars for my truck, I finally decided on these beauties. Boy, am I glad. Materials are strong/sturdy, the installation was faster than expected, and the end result is beyond expectation. Exceptional product. If all Westin products are this nice, I'll look for their brand first when it comes to more dress-ups."

"I was very impressed with the ease of installation and with the fit of the bars. I am 70 years old and I installed them in less than an hour. Everything about the kit was great except one bar had a small ding on the bottom of it but as it would not show unless you were under the car I went ahead and used it."

"Platinum Series Nerf Bars were EZ to install with basic tools, Helps to have a helping hand while your hanging the bars, but other than that a one man job. I got the chrome bars and was impressed on how sturdy and beefy they are. And solid while standing on them. Don't have a bad thing to say about the nerf bars what so ever. Great price for even greater quality. Recommend them highly! They look great on my 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, and so does the Weston Bull Bar w/skid plate. Also EZ to install."

"The Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars seem to be a high quality product and look great on my truck. The directions were good but installation was a little more difficult than you might assume. You remove three body bolts on each side and the only way of really doing that is with an impact wrench. We will see if they last longer than previous mild steel ones I had."

"Westin Nerf Bars look great and demonstrate high quality for the money. Installation was tedious as bolting the brackets to the frame required an extra set of hands. Use blocks or jack stands to hold pieces in place, it goes alot easier. Overall very satisfied with product and appearance."

"I bought these instead of the Saturn ones and not only do they look great, the guys at the dealership liked them too! They would've charged $200 to install the flat boring ones (you can do these yourself in about an hour, for free.)"

"I was very satisified with my choice of Westin Platinum Nerf Bars. The packaging, hardware and directions were good. With just using hand tools I had them installed in less than an hour. I was careful the first time I stood on them but they didn't move a bit. I would recommend these to anyone looking to get a set of nerf bars."
