Took 45 minutes to install. It looks great on the Acura MDX. I saved almost $200 by buying this nerf bar as opposed to the Acura brand and it looks almost identical to the factory nerf bars.

I have never owned nerf bars before but the installation was fairly simple. The bars came together but in different wrappings and for a novice I was not sure which one was for passenger and which one for driver. I thought I figured it out but called to make sure and they confirmed I had it right. Again for a novice it would just have helped to have them marked and you could lay them out right out of the box. The bars look great to me.

I really love the free shipping, recieved in 2 days Fedx right to my place of work. I agree that the instructions leave a lot to be desired but they were easy to install, fit like a glove and look great on my truck. No flex at all and very sturdy.

I received these very promptly in good shape, as they were very well packaged. all components present, exact amount of quality hardware, and good instructions. They were very easy to install in about an hour. The brackets are well engineered of heavy steel. and fit perfectly. The SS bars look great and went on easily.Very pleased with this purchase, and they should hod up well in our western NY winter.

Step Bars for my "newly purchased used Toyota Tundra" arrived quickly. The Bars were as advertised and all parts were present in the box. The instructions were clear, with pictures to help. I'm 74 years old, but I am handy and figured I'd tackle installation by my self. It was EASY! I was done in no, well little, time at all. They look great and are just what is needed to get this old body into the truck.

Can these (or any others) re-use the original OEM step bar brackets as installed by Ford (or the dealer) when the truck was purchased new? 2003 Ford Escape)
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 19, 2013 8:26 AM
Hi, I seriously doubt it. The Tuff-Bar brackets are far stronger than the Ford brackets anyways.

1. Am looking for nerf bars for 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 ext cab (known as a Quad Cab at time of production) long bed. Prefer black, steel, WHEEL-TO-WHEEL. Are these the right length for this truck? 2. I have seen too many Westin and SmittyBuilt bars that have rusted out. How are these rust-protected?

I am looking at 3" Nerf bars for the 2012 Toyota Tacoma Access cab truck in polished SS. Narrowed down to Tuff, Westin e series and Go Rhino models. Are any of these made in USA?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 4:56 PM
Hello. The Go Rhino products only guarantee “Made In North America” but Westin owns Tuff-Bar so they are both made at their Minnesota plant. Thank you for your inquiry!

Do these bars mount to the frame, or at least to the existing cab-mount bolts? I know that some attach to the rocker panels, and/or the the bottom fender mounting bolts, either of which seems like a less sturdy way to go. Any info about the mounting mechanism would be appreciated here.
