Which coating is more durable. My current 4" round chrome plated Platinum Series nerf bars are 6 years old and have visible "pits" in the finish. Looking to replace with polished stainless steel 6" oval and want to know if this finish will be more resistant to pitting and still maintain a similar chrome polish "like" appearance?

My current bars are made of "stainless steel 304" that are chrome plated. Platinum Series purchased in 2006.

Hi, Your current bars are made of mild steel with a chrome plating, so the metal under the plating is vulnerable to rusting. Replacing the actual metal with stainless steel is a good way to prevent pitting and rusting. And yes, the polished stainless bars look great.

I'm interested in the Westin Nerf Bars on your site. If I order online and set the quantity to 1, am I ordering one bar or one set?

Hello. When ordering online, if you set the quantity to one, you are purchasing a set of bars for your vehicle, not single pieces. Thank you.
