The mounting instructions appear to be written by someone who has never actually installed these bars on a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Trail-rated edition. Written instructions are complex, and in order to understand what the writer is saying you have to keep flipping pages from written instructions to fuzzy pictures that either don't show or is unclear. Westin step bars are great; instructions-not so much for my 2017 Jeep GC.

The only issue that I have is that one of the mounting nuts "inside" the Step Bar broke free and I am not able to torque that bolt down. I am working with customer service to try and get this resolved. Westin is asking for some pictures of the problem and I can only do that on the weekend (inside the garage), because it isn't much fun having to lay in the snow in our driveway at home.

Directions suck, pictures where bad . Called Westin and they Emailed me directions . Printed out better pictures but the directions where the same. However the job turned out great! The Bars look and function great!

This is not a twisted triangle, but the farmer at one point threatend to turn the bars into pretzels! My farmer (of above average intelligence and mechincal abilities) and myself installed the bars in about 2.5 hours, in our garage - on a Jeep 2011 Grand Cherokee. The quality of the bars was better than expected and upon completed installation, they look marvelous. To say that the instructions were vague would be a gross understatement! There was a full page of mostly runon sentences with few references to acutal diagrams or pictures. We did watch the video tutorial, but it was not much help either. To the manufacturer, a photo of each part with a name and number descriptor would be a huge benefit. There were parts that we had no ideal what they were and only figured it out through a process of elimination. This installation is not for an amatuer type person. With time and Xanax, you can do it, too! The price was reasonable, comparitively, and I have purchased from AutoAnything in the past and been very pleased with their customer support and products.
