Go Industries Rancher Rugged Steps Running Boards Part #42351 Customer Reviews

This is a good product that used to be better. It only comes with side mounts and confusing instructions. This was a replacement due to rust out after about 5 years. highly recommend mud guards to protect the steps from tire spray. For my installation, I kept the two frame mounts from prior set of these steps and added the three fender mounts. one mount had the hole covered by a rubber plug while the other two had the per-threaded bolts. would recommend 3 frame mounts if available.

THe installation directions are a contradictory mess - you'll spend more time staring at them and the parts list than you will actually installing the running boards. But it was worth the hassle. THey toughen up the look of your truck.

Don't be fooled, these boards are no longer a smooth coated finish. The mud scraper brackets are "NOT INCLUDED". They mount to the rocker panels and inner body not the frame. I needed to place a piece of wood between the slats as not to bend metal. Sure they look tough, but I have my doubts due to where they mount. I have my personel issues with the "new" styling and accessories not included, but these were the look I wanted.

These are tough, heavy duty running boards. Not smooth and sleek. All steel construction. Although my truck was pre-drilled, it is four years old and some of the nuts were rusted. I could not install myself. I took it to my local garage and they did it for $100. They had to cut out the old nuts and tap weld new ones in place. Something to consider. We had heavy slushy snow here in Michigan that clogged up between the rail grating. Noticeable, but melted. My kids and wife love them.
