Romik Running Boards - 07 Acura MDX

Reviewed By Jeremiah A (Natick, MA) Reviewed for a 2007 Acura MDX —1/24/2011 12:36 PM

These boards (stainless) look amazing on my wife's MDX; however, they would benefit greatly from an additional (center) mounting bracket like the OEM ones have -- the frame holes are already there, why not add another bracket to this kit? I'm 200 lbs and they flex quite a bit if I put any of my weight on them. Regardless...they still work great for both my 3-year old son and primary reasons for installing them. The install was fairly painless but for the floating L-bolts (4 of them) that bolt to body panel weeping holes. These are a bit of a pain as it is difficult to hold the mounting bracket, washer, and lock washer in place while threading the nut and trying to prevent the bolt from pushing up into the body panel -- by the fourth one I got the hang of it, but a third hand for this step would be very useful. If your car has any kind of rust on the bottom you best have a tap and die set on hand for this install, as I can see these mounting holes getting corroded very quickly. The bottom of my car is in great condition, yet several of the frame holes were starting to show signs of rust.

Romik RAL Running Boards

Almost like the original factory, maybe better. Looks great and good quality. Very sturdy and so I'm glad I got this one and not some of the other cheaper types out there i saw for under $300. It's worth it to pay a little more to get this model. My x3 now looks like it's on steroids! and it hasn't really gotten in the way of getting in/out of car as some reviews may say. its perfect for me. (However, my auto guy had to do a little more drilling to fit it onto my 2011 x3.)

Running Boards for a 2015 Traverse

Reviewed By Alan J (LAKE ORION, MI) Reviewed for a 2015 Chevy Traverse —10/28/2015 5:51 AM

People are getting older and we needed to make it easier for people to get into and out of our Traverse. These boards look like the were always there people don't notice them until they need to step on them to get in and out of the vehicle. Friends liked them so much, they purchased a set for their 2005 Silverado. The install went well, only one fastener that we not threaded properly.
