Needed some "grinding" to get the mounting bolts to fit

Reviewed By Richard V (Belmont, CA) Reviewed for a 1999 Toyota 4Runner —9/22/2014 8:10 PM

I have 1999 Toyota 4Runner. The holes in the frame where the mounting bolts are to be inserted had some rounded corners. That was just enough that none of the parts inserted. I went to a friends house where we ground the corners down (and a bit of a welded bolt on one too) - then they slipped in fine. After that - was easy. But without that grinding wheel I would have been challenged to get the same amount ground off that was needed.

Steps are nice, brackets are terrible

Reviewed By James E S (LOUISA, VA) Reviewed for a 2012 Dodge Ram —6/12/2015 4:41 PM

The steps themselves seem nicely done and look OK on the vehicle. They could be an inch wider, which would make them much more convenient to step into with boots. The brackets are thin sheet metal that did not properly fit ('12 Ram 1500 4 door). The lower tab on the bracket had to be bent straighter to match the mounting angle. The spacers were not long enough and I had to make spacers and buy 3" bolts because the enclosed bolts were too short. They are poorly designed and bound to fail.

A Little Disappointed

Reviewed By Geoff P (Rye, CO) Reviewed for a 2015 Ford F-250 —11/5/2014 3:09 PM

I expected them to be a little more beefy. The cross piece is very sturdy but the side pieces are not made of very heavy material. I believe they will get bent the first time they meet dirt or rock. I would expect something more substantial construction from such a high profile company. If you are looking for something that looks great and has a lot of class then these are a great choice. If you are into serious off roading then maybe not so much.
