"I love the Nerf Bars they make my truck look great and they are functional but best of all the were easy to install. I think it was about an half an hour. Thank for a great product and price....." —Stephen J from Vail, AZ bought a Smittybilt Sure-Step Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab.
"I waited a year before I purchased my bars because of instalation problems I heard about, not with these 30 min start to finish and they look great, and now my wife and motherinlar are happy that they can get into my truck with ease. mmmmmm should have thought about that first." —Anthony D from Hudson, MA bought a Smittybilt Sure-Step Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Access cab.
"I purchased the BLACK Romik side bars, and I am very pleased with how they look on my truck. Installation was super easy on the Tacoma, Instructions are simple to understand. Kit has two brackets per side and they bolt right into existing holes in under carriage, the bar then mounts to the brackets with two bolts per bracket, very clean looking installation and only took about 20 minutes total, one person can do it, but helps if you have two just to hold the bar on till you get the bolts in. Easy to adjust for proper angle also. The black bars DO NOT HAVE welded end caps, plastic instead and the front of bars angle in slightly ( better looking than straight in my opinion anyway)so auto anything needs to word the ad a little better as I thought I would be getting the welded end caps...Still very pleased with the end result and I highly recommend these bars!!" —David B from Windsor, CA bought a Romik 3" Max Bars Side Steps for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Crew cab.
"Installation was easy, bolted right up, and look excellent, just what the truck needed!!!" —John L from Urbandale, IA bought a Westin 3" Signature Series Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab.
"The ordering process was quite simple and delivery came within a week as promised.
I'm not that mechanically inclined, but after reading other reviews on the ease of installation, I decided to give it a shot.
The first rail was in place in about 25 minutes the second in 15. The entire process was just as advertised. I highly recommend the Westin Step Bars." —Reginald E from New Orleans, LA bought a Westin 3" Signature Series Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab, 5' short bed.
"On my Tacoma, I think I would like them to protrude a little more and be a little lower, more of a step. I can use them pretty easily when I get in, but I find myself trying to slide out over them when I get out. Other than that they look great and work well for the wife and kids." —Jonathan S from Ithaca, NY bought a Westin 3" Signature Series Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab, 5' short bed.
"These nerf steps were exactly what I wanted. They were easy to install and look great on my truck. I couldn't be happier. I would definately recommend these to anyone." —Marcos C from San Antonio, TX bought a Smittybilt Nerf Steps for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab.
"These are excellent quality bars. What sold me on them rather than another model was their Stainless Steel construction. I would have rated the black finish, "Excellent" in appearance but it isn't stocked by Auto Anything. I decided that their excellent price & service made up for this lack.
The bars were a lot more time consuming to install than if I had owned another brand of truck. This is a function of my Tacoma's construction, and limited working space--not Westin's fault. Westin included all required parts for my double cab, short bed Tacoma. The confusing part was that they also included some parts that were not for my truck, which caused some delay & head scratching. I believe the instructions could have been a bit more clear, or at least leave out the superfluous parts.
Overall, I'd buy the Platinum series again, since I live by the ocean. (And installation would be faster the second time around.)" —Peter F from Gulf Breeze, FL bought a Westin 3" Platinum Series Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab, 5' short bed.
"Bottom line first. These bars look and fit awesome. I have no idea why anyone would spend 2 or 3 times the price for "brand" name bars. Take my advice - don't! Get these bars and use your savings to buy something else. You won't regret it.
My only complaint (albeit a small one) is the instructions aren't completely clear. Others have pointed this out as well. However, if you have half a brain, you can figure out the brackets. Here's a tip. Each bracket has an offset tab with bolt holes. The tabs on all 3 brackets should point to the rear of the vehicle if your standing facing towards your vehicle. Hope this helps.

was right... the bars fit as stated and I am very satisfied... thanks A-A" —Marion W from Columbia, SC bought a Westin 3" E Series Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Double cab.
"I am over all satisfied with the Dee Zee Stainless nerf bars.
The steel is thinner than I expected. Very easy to install. It took me only 30 minutes, including opening all the packaging. A 3rd bracket in the center would make them sturdier. One of the end caps were broken, and I am in the process of getting a replacement from Auto anything." —Paul D from Stoughton, MA bought a Dee Zee Elite 3" Round Nerf Bars for a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, Access cab.
