Poor engineering but woks

Reviewed By Tibor S (Port Charlotte, FL) —5/12/2016 5:40 AM

When in the first step it tells you to pull everything apart and wire everything up to see if it functions make sure you do that. The motors were wired possibly backwards or on the wrong side of the lowering arms swapping things around I made it work but it's still not perfect. now the motors are on the front side of the lowering arm but it to goes in the correct direction. passenger side rear door and the driver side rear door sensors had to be swapped. they were labeled wrong.

Somewhat poor design w/ regard to installation

Reviewed By Renzin Y (Bellevue, WA) Reviewed for a 2010 Lexus RX 350 —4/29/2015 2:22 PM

A little about me - licensed professional mechanical engineer (extensive general automotive repair experience). The electrical systems were easy to install (decent instructions). But the mounting of brackets onto the truck was flawed. There wasnt adequate space to clip in the electrical connection for the motors and it had to be FORCED into place. The running boards do work...but really poor design bestop. Also, you need to oil it after every wash or heavy rain (or it squeaks).

Putco Boss 4" Round Nerf Bars

The negatives: When mounting the bars, I had to run the threads in the rivet nuts of the bars so that the bolts would start. To prevent rust, the bolts should have been stainless and the brackets powder coated. The front step pad is too far forward making it more awkward to enter and causing your foot to scuff the polished bar. Too expensive for the above mentioned reasons. The positives: They're relatively easy to install, look good and attractively cover the full length wheel to wheel.
