The 4" oval bars look much more substantial than the 3". If you have any doubt at all, go for the 4"-ers.A couple points that may help others:- The steps themselves aren't labeled except for long serial/parts numbers on one end. One ends with a "D", the other with a "P" for "driver" and "passenger".- A few folks wrote that the holes aren't perfectly aligned. Something that may help is to not tighten any of the bolts with tools until everything is in place and hand tightened. I initially tightened the supports to the truck with a wrench, but then the holes on the steps didn't line up perfectly. To fix, all I had to do was loosen the supports from the truck.Overall, they are sharp looking and an easy install.

Purchased for a 2010 Tacoma double cab. I installed in the driveway in 20 degree Pa weather and it went very smooth. All holes lined up, finished in 45 minutes with just hand tools. The appearance is great, just what I wanted since they do not stick out too far from the side of the truck. Something I do not like about others I have seen. That being said there is not a lot of clearance for a large foot. In my case that doesn't matter since I bought them mainly so my girlfriend didn't have such a hard time getting in and out of the truck, and they work fine for her. Overall and quality I only gave them "good" since I've only had them on for a couple weeks. So it remains to be seen how they hold up. But out of the box they are very nice.

I just put the powder coated black bars on my 09 tacoma. They definitely make the truck look better. The install was very easy. Only thing was that both front brackets did not line up at first so I switched them. They were probably just mislabeled. Not a big deal, just took a little more time. So dont panic if you get them and the same thing happens. As far as function, I dont really use them to step into the truck since they sit right under the sill anyway. However, the bars look great and are definitely solid so I have no worry standing on them while I wash my roof. Good nerf bars for the price.

I couldn't believe how fast the shipping was. I ordered them on Thursday afternoon and they were sitting on my door step Friday afternoon. In fact, I received the e-mail that they were shipped after they arrived. I'd say fast, doesn't get much better than that! Only problem with the install was getting the original bolts off my 2010 Dodge Dakota. For some reason driver side bolts were a little under sized and had to get a local gas station to loosen them a bit. Even with that delay, still took less than an hour. Very pleased and they look great. Black bars on a black Dakota. Thanks so much AutoAnyThing !

Installed on my 2010 Tacoma. I added a 3" inch suspension lift with bigger tires so I needed just that little extra step to get it, particularly for the wife and passengers. The bars are very light and will not add much weight to the overall weight of the truck. I mean the box it came in barely weighed anything, of course in relation to it's size. Was real easy to mount. Did it by myself in about 30 minutes and they feel very solid. Very much worth the buy.
