Description

The Bully Dog Power Pup ain't no cute little doggie, it's a mean and nasty programmer that will unleash the power in your diesel engine. Just plug the Power Pup into your in-cab OBDII and with a quick reflash of the ECU, you're ready to roll.

The Bully Dog Power Pup offers four built-in dyno-proven preset programs to choose from. The Tow setting gives you deep-digging extra torque, essential for pulling heavy loads up steep roads. The Performance setting boosts your horsepower and torque giving you heaps of highway power. If you dare, dial in the Extreme setting for the highest gain of any programmer, up to 150 hp, depending on your specific vehicle. And, you can always return your engine to its original settings with the Stock program.

The Power Pup programmer plays by its own rules and lets you remove the speed limiter, plus it checks and clears DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) with an easy push of a button. Go ahead, take this "puppy" home.

Power Pup Review

Posted on 11/13/2007 by Tyler B. - 2004 GMC Sierra (Rockport,TX)

2 of 5 people found the following review helpful.

"The Power Pup gave made a noticeable increase in power without an added exhuast or intake. I have now added a flowmaster truck muffler and have seen a little more power. I'm installing a K&N intake today, so hopefully that will Unleash the rest of the power. All in all, I would say that it was the best bang for the buck. Highly recommended."

Duromax LMM

Posted on 11/11/2007 by Bruce L. - 2007 Chevy Silverado (Albuquerque,NM)

2 of 5 people found the following review helpful.

"After receiving the Pwr Pup I found out that it could not do the max speed program for the Duromax LMM engine. I also use a Macintosh and could not "up-date" the software which came with the Pwr Pup. Asked a friend who uses Windows and he found it impossible to access all of the necessary, on line programs in order to up date software. Very buggy. Why can't the Pwr Pup be sold with the current software version? Having said all of that, it did make a bid difference in HP and torque."

Increased Gas MPG

Posted on 11/06/2007 by John K. - 2006 Chevy Silverado (Stanwood,WA)

4 of 6 people found the following review helpful.

"The main reason I bought this was to increase torque and horsepower for pulling our 5th wheel. I haven't pulled the trailer yet but have noticed an increase of 2+ mpg in the first week. My truck definitely has more take off power and the shift points are firmer. I am very happy with this product and am thinking about getting one for my wifes Trailblazer."

Bully Dog Gas Power Pup

Posted on 10/26/2007 by Nyles W. (Provo,UT)

"It was simply amazing, finally a product where you get what you pay for. Increase in Horsepower and getting a few more gallons to the mile. I still need to try the performance gas setting to, JOY! You can also rest at ease with mechanics, cause now with a little help from Google and the Power Pup you can read error codes. Bye Bye crooked mechanics. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a vehicle that is compatible."

'01 GMC Sierra 1500HD 6.0L

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"Installed the Power Pup on my '01 Gmc 6.0L, because I had just bought a new camper and was wanting to see if would make a difference in the towing(Power)capability of my truck. And was I supprised! Not only could you tell a difference in Power/torque but in fuel mileage also. I went from 10mpg unloaded around town to 11.5mpg towing a 8000+ lbs. camper @ 70mph. Its not a huge difference in Power and fuel mileage but enough to make it worth buying the Power Pup. I Also like the Speedometer calibration with the unit, I have always had oversized tires on my truck and finally I am able to adjust the speedometer to the size tires that I have."

"I have had my gas downloader for about three weeks now. As soon as I got it there was an upgrade for it. The update agent does not like to work with windows vista so i had problems. Very hard to get tech support. Got all that straightened out, went to install, come to find out the unit is malfunctioning and now I have to send it back at my expense. Not very impressed"

"I'm not very impressed or maybe my expectations were way too high. The one thing that is nice is the removal of the speed limiter. It has frozen up on me several times, resulting in calling Bully Dog directly. One thing I’ve learned is Bully Dog doesn't really deal with the gas engines. Good luck"

"Amazing! The added power I received on just the first setting (50 HP gain) for towing made my truck act like it was on steroids! When I'm not towing my 6 horse trailer, I now get a 2 mile per gallon increase. If you have a diesel truck, don't hesitate to buy tthe Power Pup as it's worth every penny you'll pay for it."
