Description

Want to boost your ride's horsepower but don't want to crawl under the hood to do it? Hypertech's Power Programmer III makes it easy: Just plug this self-contained automotive tuning computer into the under-dash diagnostic plug, answer a series of yes/no questions, and the Hypertech Power Programmer III goes to work.

The Hypertech Power Programmer III instantly recognizes your vehicle's power train by reading your VIN for specific information on the engine, transmission and drivetrain. For some vehicles (see Detailed Info), you can even tell the Hypertech Power Programmer III to tune your vehicle for optimal performance with 87-octane or premium 93-octane gasoline. Plus, it'll adjust for aftermarket components such as non-stock tire sizes and rear-end gear ratios, too.

For many vehicles, the Power Programmer III unlocks 3 stages of performance tuning. Stage 1 gives you a modest boost and may improve fuel mileage. Or, dial up to stage 3 for heavy-duty towing and intense thrust. Lifetime Warrnaty.

Notes

  • Please note that the 8th digit of the VIN Code designates which engine the vehicle is equipped with. Please verify your vehicle's engine code for proper Hypertech unit.
  • Flex Fuel Vehicles: fueling with E85 is not recommended in conjunction with your Hypertech unit. Burning E85 reduces efficiency and power compared to using gas, which nullifies the effect of Hypertech's programming.

"After the purchase of the Hypertech power programmer 111, I noticed a great increase in power and in gas mileage. The mileage increased from 16 to 22 miles per gallon. I'd highly recommend it to anyone for increased performance. At inflated fuel cost, Hypertech will pay for itself quickly. Martin"

"I bought two of these Hypertechs, one for a friend and myself. He loves how well his truck runs and the bottom end pick up. I have too agree the truck does run better and the bottom end pick up is right there with no hestiation. Haven't tested gas milage yet. Very nice overall."

"So far I've really enjoyed the firmer shifting much more than I notice the slight difference in power. There hasn't been a change in my fuel economy, but I didn't expect there to be. I have and will continue to recommend this as an easy way to tweak the '05 Expedition."

Wow - Why Did I wait so long to Buy?

"2003 6.0 litre PS 4x4 stk BFG 265's w/ 133K on truck; avg 800 mi per week. Mileage jumped from 17.5 to 22 - 24mpg. Pwr increase is "stupid-good"; thought about chasing Mustangs before, now thinking about finding a Corvette. 6th-grade simple to download. However, had to wait two weeks to get an appointment at Ford dealer diesel dept to perform several tech service bulletins before continuing with download. Powerwise, it's like a Ninja bike; w/o the turning... or the wheelieing... or having an xtra 6K lbs-- tire smoke for days! Response off idle is snappier now. Product showed-up in two days. Nice!"

"Tried it first with 87 octane. Stalled constantly, shifting was erratic. Filled up w/ 93 octane and retuned, but got a lot of pinging and still stalled. Called Hypertech, and they said they said they have this problem with Magnums that have a K&N intake installed (which I do). Returned it, bought a Superchips Flashpaq. Many more options, and it's internet upgradeable!"

"I was not impressed with this product. First of all the manual does not give an explanation of the settings, what does what. I did not notice any horsepower increase at all. I have gained 1.5 MPG which is the only reason I dont set back to factory settings."

Does what it says...not a miracle

"Erases trouble codes, transmission shift point changes helpful, retunes to run on premium gas, does increase power noticeably, but not hugely. 89 octane seems ok for the 93 octane program, no pinging, but I may be loseing some of the benefit. Towed a trailer this week for 400 miles, and it did better on hills and accelerating than before. I also added a K&N intake kit and flowmaster muffler, so how much credit the hypertech gets in the mix is uncertain. No real improvement in gas milage with these 3 mods. Overall, I think it's worth it."
