Description

Want to boost your ride's horsepower but don't want to crawl under the hood to do it? Hypertech's Power Programmer III makes it easy: Just plug this self-contained automotive tuning computer into the under-dash diagnostic plug, answer a series of yes/no questions, and the Hypertech Power Programmer III goes to work.

The Hypertech Power Programmer III instantly recognizes your vehicle's power train by reading your VIN for specific information on the engine, transmission and drivetrain. For some vehicles (see Detailed Info), you can even tell the Hypertech Power Programmer III to tune your vehicle for optimal performance with 87-octane or premium 93-octane gasoline. Plus, it'll adjust for aftermarket components such as non-stock tire sizes and rear-end gear ratios, too.

For many vehicles, the Power Programmer III unlocks 3 stages of performance tuning. Stage 1 gives you a modest boost and may improve fuel mileage. Or, dial up to stage 3 for heavy-duty towing and intense thrust. Lifetime Warrnaty.

Notes

  • Please note that the 8th digit of the VIN Code designates which engine the vehicle is equipped with. Please verify your vehicle's engine code for proper Hypertech unit.
  • Flex Fuel Vehicles: fueling with E85 is not recommended in conjunction with your Hypertech unit. Burning E85 reduces efficiency and power compared to using gas, which nullifies the effect of Hypertech's programming.

"Between this and the cold air intake we get from 1 to 3 mpg more. Even if it wasn't better milage, the truck runs so much nicer. I wish I did this right after I bought the truck. Very easy to use if you are not messing with the shift points, which I didn't."

"While the Hypertech Power Programmer III did work just fine it seemed the technology was a little dated. The unit itself is large and the display is small. The display scrolls messages so the messages take time to read. The unit was easy to use and setup. It worked just as described. Resetting to factory setting was also very easy. Increased power is not noticeable on acceleration. However, I noticed I could stay in a higher gear without having to downshift as often. Therefore mileage was up a little. I you are looking for a noticeable power increase, the Hypertech Power Programmer III will not do that. But, if you want more control over your cars computer and a little more mileage this is a good product."

"It was easy to program the duramax and the level 2 power is great. near as I can tell I'm gettng about 2 mpg's more if I keep it 70 or under. slower speeds get better milage. It was worth the money. Auto anything was great to order from also."

"I've only run 2 tanks since I installed your software and have only driven in and around town. My mileage has jumped from 13.2 mpg to 14.9. That represents a 12% increase. I was only getting 15.8 on the highway under cruise control @ 70 mph before. I am expecting the same increase if not better for the highway. This thing will easily pay for itself with gas going up the way that it is."

"I had a Jet stage II Chip in my Chevy Truck and it did a good job as well but the Hypertech Programmer III gave me programable option which the Jet chip did not. Things like, setting the tire size(I got 24s on the truck, changing the RPM limit, Transmission shift points and tunning for 87octain fuel. The only thing is that I cann't feel much of a differance in the low end. Over all I am Good with this purchase."

"I am very happy with my programmer. I was able to go from 9 mpg to 14-15 mpg and gain horsepower.It shifts more aggressive and adjusted for my larger tires. I also added a k+n cold air intake. Together AWESOME.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Does everything it is said to do, in my 5.3 GM. Had a program problem and had to send it to Hypertech, but it was returned to me by FedEx, and I was able to install in less than 30 min. Only programmer I've tried, so I can't compare to competetors, but it gave me tire size, shift firmness, & acceleration."

"It was easy to install the program.Did not notice much improvement in horsepower.But i was able to turn my fans on sooner and that alone was great.I have a manual trans if you have a auto trans you can do shift point an more. Easy to go back to factory setting's.In all good programmer."
