Bought this programmer for towing my 15,ooo lb 5'er and for the economy mode. Super easy installation and looks good on the dash! Gained 3-4 mpg on economy mode! Noticed a lot more torque in towing mode but have not been able to calculate a good mpg due to the terrain that I was towing on. This product is definately the best choice for someone like me who does not understand "custom tunes". Still has the option for that also though! Just plug and play! Very simple! I would recommend!

This programmer is still new to me, but I'm happy I bought it. I installed bigger tires on my truck and in turn it messed up my MPH and MPG. Instead of going to a dealership, and paying them to reprogram my truck computer, I thought I would buy this programmer myself. I have it set on tow mode even though I don't tow anything ( hopefully a boat soon if I win the mega ball ) noticed the transmission a little more peppy than normal mode. It's kinda cool to check out the other functions and displays

highway mileage improved quite a bit but in town driving seemed to see the same mpg or maybe even slightly worse. driving the truck as a daily driver, I did notice a reduced spool up time in economy mode and a very noticeable increase in power in the towing mode. I haven't tried extreme yet due to the fact that my truck is almost entirely stock and I don't want to risk a failure on my daily driver. overall i love the tuner. installation was easy, use is easy, and performance is great.

I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase a programmer as my first upgrade and after a month of ownership I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to wake up their F150 (mine is a FX4 5.4L). I've been running in stage 2 (with a few tweeks in the custom program)my truck now runs the best it ever has so my right foot hasn't let me see any gain in mpg yet. I wish I had more room to share more info with you, autoanything gave me a great price and I will order from them again.

I waited a long time to buy this, too long actually. Since I have gotten the Evolution, I have kept it in Level 2 (towing mode) and boy is there a big difference. I can now spin the tires on my '05 4.6L V8. A definite power increase. I have seen a slight increase in mileage, only about .3-.4, but that's because I drive all city and can't keep my foot out of it. Can't wait to try Level 3 and take a road trip on the highway as well. Overall great customer service by Edge and Autoanything!

The programmer was very easy to install. Had to reflash the programmer on the computer but that only took fifteen minutes. I got the dash mount with it, the velcro that held the mount down was a joke. I had to use glue to hold this thing down. You can notice a difference in power and fuel economy. I gained about three miles a gallon on power setting #1. Over all a good deal. The down side is if you want to change power settings you have to turn the truck off, and it takes a few minutes to change

Ordered this programmer and it was shipped fast as usual. Was able to get it installed in 10 minutes and setup shortly after that. The tunes that are included with it have brought my truck to life. The 5.4L V8 now feels like it should. I love the instant monitoring features that this has for all the systems of the truck. Edge Evolution is will worth the money.

Does the edge chip let me calibrate my tire size, since it is above stock?
Answered by Nathan S. — Jul 16, 2012 4:30 PM
Unfortunately, the Edge programmer will not provide correction for tire size changes, but the Superchips Flashpaq tuner certainly will.

1. Can I set it back to the stock tune? 2. what exactly does that mean?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 1:56 PM
Hey Jim, stock tune is the factory or OEM settings that your vehicle’s manufacture loaded into its computer. It’s important to set it back to stock when taking your vehicle to the dealer for servicing or when getting a smog check.

Are these tunes really considered custom tunes?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 28, 2012 10:53 AM
In a sense they are custom, since they are different from the stock tune and written specifically your year, make and model vehicle. But, they are still written for the unmodified version of your vehicle. For a highly modified vehicle, you need to go to a tuner where they’ll put it on the dyno and write a truly “custom” tune just for it.

I have a 2008 F-250 6.4 4-wheeldrive with 35's can I ad an exhaust w/ EGR delete of waste gate and cold air intake with my Edge Evolution programmer
Answered by Nathan S. — May 07, 2012 11:45 AM 1991 Nissan 240SX
I would recommend everything except for the EGR delete. These programmers are designed to function with all emissions equipment in place. And removing the EGR will probably cause the check engine light to display which the EDGE will not prevent or clear.

I didn't read through 600+ reviews. What I want to know is, what is the best fuel milage you are getting. I have a 2008 Ford F450 6.4L currently getting 9-13mpg. Everyone posts about greater horsepower, I am concerned with greater fuel savings.
Answered by Nathan S. — May 04, 2012 10:25 AM 1996 Dodge Dakota
A 10-12% fuel economy increase is common on diesel applications with the Edge Evolution.

is level two ONLY for towing? i am looking for fuel economy and performance and this level sounds good but i am concerned about it being bad for my truck because i don't tow.
Answered by Rayden T. — Mar 08, 2012 3:36 PM 2004 Ford F-150
I run mine on level 2. towing is just making your tranny run better while having more weight and makes you tranny run smoother. so your good to run it on level 2.

I had the same configurations for my F150 5.4, 2005 and made a huge immediate difference. Performance was great, fuel economy was better as long as I didnt keep my foot up near the radiator. Biggest difference was when I towed a gooseneck horse trailer.....awesome

Do i need to have any upgrades on my truck before i install this? Or can it go on a stack truck? And does it decrease the life span of the motor?
Answered by Tadd T. — Dec 17, 2011 5:48 AM 2001 Ford F-250
You can put this or any programer on a stock truck. As long as you dont go to over bord with the seetings it will not decrease the life span. It may make the truck smoke a little though and if it does It means the engine is not breathing good enough. Helping a engine breath better is a good way to get more power. You can start with a exaust system upgrade. You can also do a intake and filter but be carefull some flilers let more air in but get dirty easer. A bad air box or filter will ruen a engine the quickest. But a programer by its self is ok.
