"I had changed my gear ratios to 4:11's in my 98 Dodge, The description stated making changes to allow for the modification which was one of the main reasons for the purchase. While installing the programing I found out there several improvments that were not for my truck. Please state exactly what the programmer will do fpr the make, model, and year so we will Know befor the purchase. Yes definatly the truck performs better! But I wonder if allowing for the gear change the performance would be even greater!"

"Installation was a snap .I cleared the tdc codes wrote them all down .Set it for 87 octain and 32 in. tires .On dodge's you can change the shifting at all but i did notice a difrence with the shift and cruise controls with just a tire size change . The engine runs much smoother . As far as feeling the horse power and touqe (only when you stand on the skinny petel)its there . Dont know about the gas milage I see it running about 17 - 20 miles agallon so far"

"While I had hoped for a little better MPG, I am very impressed with the power gains I have gotten. After setting up my truck on level 3, I quickly found out what I had been missing in the power department. The only 'problem' I have come across, is NOT trying to see just how much HP level 3 adds."

"My 1999 F-250 Powerstroke feels like a new machine. It feels like it just woke up and wants to play. Everything is smoother and extremely responsive.
I'm disapointed in the milage increase. I am getting about 2 miles a gallon more, but a friend says he is getting 6mpg more with his on the same model and year. So far though I have only tried it while pulling a trailer with 2 (sometimes 3) quads. I am interested to see what it does without a load.
I saved $40 by getting it from Auto Anything. The Hypertech Max Energy is worth the money just for the performance increase alone. The extra fuel mileage will help, but I was hoping for more."

"as with all ford pick ups mine had a slow shift problem and you really coulnt feel any power until high rpm this chip did what it said it would, I liked the fact that it did improve shift firmness but I still belive the truck should have more power. I guess the only way to really get power out of a 5.4 is supercharging it."

"I drive a 2009 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0L motor. I ordered the Max Programmer because I tow a 24 foot enclosed car trailer and the first time I towed with the truck stock it was very sluggish. I looked at other programmers and decided on the Max because the dyno sheets showed good power at and below 2500 rpm. When I got the unit I had to go on Hypertech's website and download an updated version of the engine program. Lucky for me I have a PC laptop because the software is not Mac friendly. The install went well and the truck is more awake, however every now and then there is a little hick-up and there is a little bit of a hesitation. Mileage also has suffered. I drive very "balloon footed" around town and pre program I was getting 13-14 MPG town and 17-18 mpg highway, that has dropped with the program to 10-12 around town and 14-15 highway. I think when I tow and need the extra oomph I'll install the software, but the rest of the time it will be stock."

"After down loading the updates on the Hypertech, the installation on my truck took about 20 minutes, very easy. I then took the truck for a ride and definitely noticed more power and the shifts were stronger. I anticipate similar results when pulling my 24' camping trailer. I am very pleased with the results and also the excellent service.
Thank you, Paul"

"This programmer is very easy to use and makes a noticeable difference in about 5 minutes. To get the most out of the programmer you need to use the premium fuel tuning and adjust the shift points and shift firmness. All are very easy to do but might take a few attempts to get the shift points right. The instructions regarding shift points and rev limiter are not the greatest. It states that you need to raise the rev limiter the same amount as the shift points. I raised all shift points 200 rpm and didn't need to adjust the rev limiter at all. If you aren't hitting the rev limiter there is no need to raise it. Raising the rev limiter is a good way to blow your engine. I tried using it with an aftermarket MAF and I kept getting DTC's regarding lean condition. So if you are doing any more than a cold air intake and cat-back exhaust you need a custom tune. If you are only looking for impoved fuel economy this product is probably not for you."

"I have a 2009 2500 HD with the duramax engine and the power this thing gives out is awesome. Take this tuner install it and watch out! Even better then stock put it on level 3 and leave it there. You can tow and drive around town with it there, not the same with all tuners out there. Gas milage impoved about 1.5-2 mpg over all. I get 16 combined milage 11.5 towing a 6500 lb trailer through the hiils of Pennsylvania. This thing allowed me to lay rubber while hooked up to the trailer getting on the highway with no trouble codes. Very impressive! Brian, Burlington CT."

"I rated this programmer excellent because for the money I think it would be hard to find a programmer that this works well and easy to use. When I first plugged it in it didn't come up and I was a little disappointed. I read the trouble shooting section and it said to check cigar lighter fuse. This is where the interface plug gets it's power. My fuse was ok but found it wasn't making contact on both sides so I tool some needle nose pliers and twisted the metal sontacts slightly, re inserted the fuse and checked pin # 16 under the dash for power, it tested ok and I plugged in the programmer and it came up right away. It walked me through a few prompts and I was finished in under 10 minutes. Sure makes a difference when pulling a horse trailer on stage 2. I recommend."

"very happy so far with this unit, best mileage ever with my 1999 silverado was 17.9, and that was all highway, got 19.5 between the installation of the programmer and a injen intake. 300 miles were highway and 100 miles were city out of the last tank. am running my truck on premium to get the added advance in the motor. my trip on a highway to my destination, both ways, it never downshifted once for added power to make a hill. you can DEFINITELY, feel the difference, the only way i can describe it is that it feels like the truck needs a lot less pedal to make it move. very happy with the money i spent. should actually be around 21 mpg on the highway. my truck also has over 216,000 miles."

"the hypertech programer is everything i hoped for. I have a 2007 duramax chevy truck 3/4 ton, & a 38' fifthwheel trailer. do not know the weight but it was loaded. On returning from south dakota i stoped & reprogramed the truck to the max setting. There was a 6% grade comming up I set cruse at 64 mph the tack did not reach 2500, the trany tem stayed below 200 & the engen never broke 205. Befor I GOT THE PROGRAMER i WOULD HAVE TO LOCK SHIFTER IN ON THIS HILL IN THIRD."
