"I am not mechanical but it was easy to load. Took approximately 20 min. start to finish.
Presently sloppy gear shifting is gone. I brought our 32' fiver home from the shop (50 mi). It merged into traffic smoothly after stopping at a dead stop and into traffic at 60mph. It had extra power to pass at 60 before I wouldn't have tried it. MPG is still a question as I am still on my first tank of fuel."

"I have an 07 F150 with the 5.4L Triton V8. The shifts had a hesitation and the best mileage I got was 16.5 mpg. The performance was less than I wanted from this motor. After installing the Max Energy Programmer, the shifts were firm and there was alot more power on tap. As an added bonus my mileage went up to 18+ mpg. And this was with the regulare fuel setting. I towed my horse trailor up hill with no problem. Great product, easy installation and outstanding performance."

Hypertech Max energy 1999 Dodge Ram 5.9L

"My pickup ran poorly since its last visit to the dealers. It needed something done right away. Installed Max Energy power program for 92 octane and my towing mileage went from 6.7 to 9.1 miles per gallon. At 87 octane, I went from 14 to 18 miles per gallon. With these results, I'm sold on Hypertech."

"Compared to other power tuners out there, the Hypertech offers a lot of options for the money. The most important aspects for me are that the tuner is emissions legal (CARB certified) and offers tuning for regular gasoline. Most other tuners require premium fuel. I can't say I noticed any increase in engine power, but I added the tuner after several intake and exhaust mods that DID increase power. If it added 10hp to 330+hp, it would be hard to notice. The biggest difference the tuner made is in the auto trans. shifting. It really keeps the trans. in a better gear for more power, whether part throttle or wide open."

2007 F-150 becomes smoother

"This product is excellent. I updated it from the internet easily and installing it was fast and easy. I have also installed a K&N air intake and a Corsa cat-back exhaust system. The programmer has given the truck some more low end horse power. Acceleration is improved and the drive is much smoother. The main difference is in the shifting of the transmission: it is more responsive, quicker, and smoother. With all three products, the gas mileage has improved from 15 or 16 mpg on the highway to 21 mpg. Definitely worth the investment. My brother has a 2007 F-150 with the Superchips programmer. His truck backfires when the engine is cold; no such problem with the Hypertech product."

"After I got it working, engine doesn't rev as high to get through 1st and 2nd gear. Great response when I push the throttle to merge on the freeway. They should put the note in their installation video about disabling OnStar if you have it before programming. It's in the manual but who reads that first if they offer a step by step video!
Unit is only good for one vehicle at a time. It codes to your VIN. I have an 05 Denali with same engine but I can't tune it as well without wiping out the factory settings for my truck."

"I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 diesel and when reviewing hypertech max energy on all sorts of web pages, it claims to add 174 hp, not even close but it is probably closer to 100-110 hp gain. Still not bad but not what they say. However it did increase my mpg by 4. I am happy with that, but still a little disappointed with the hp gain."

01 Ram Performance Improvement

"My main reason for obtaining the Max Energy programmer was to correct the speedometer due to the installation of 07 Dodge wheels and tires (33 inch) diameter. I was very suprised when the truck's performanc suddenly was greatly improved on low end and normally highway speeds. Of course with the larger tires the gas mileage has greatly improved."

"its nice to be able to adjust all the different options like shift points, rev limiter, shift firmness and more. the biggest complaint i have is that i can barely notice a difference in performance. i have tried the bull dog programmer which doesnt allow you to adjust as much but i definitely felt more power from it."

"Not as many options as advertised for programmer, put on a 07 f-150 5.4 and at 5000 rpm feels like it hits a brick wall and just stays at this rpm then shifts finally, called hypertech and the guy knew nothing about the product besides what the advertisement says, $300 could be spent wisely some place else to improve your automobile."

"Nice product, I originally bought a Superchips programmer for my F150 and I had nothing but problems even after updating it, and I got scared listening to nothing but complaints on line about superchips, so I returned it and tried HYPERTECH. Awesome! I updated it from the internet, installed the performance setting in like 5 minutes, and took her for a rip. I recommend running super unleaded if you're going with the performance setting. Noticeable gas mileage increase ( 2 MPG!), power is bad a** while passing slugs on the road, and MUCH firmer shift points...almost too much. Seriously, stay away from superchips, HYPERTECH is sweet."

"I like that it adjusts your speedometer to different size tires. I combined this with a K&N intake with Magna flow exhaust and definitly noticed more power, especially passing power on the hwy. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it only has two modes, 87 and 92 octane."

Not Too Shabby On My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500

"I've been looking for ways to give my truck some more pep in the mountains, and this definitely helped. Don't expect miracles, but the truck runs smoother, has more horepower and torque, and really screams around 70 MPH with great pick-up. I would recommend this product without hesitation. Plus, you can update your speedo to account for different tires sizes, as well as read DTC from the ECU. The only thing I wish it did on my truck is change shift points and firmness on the tranny like it does for some models. Overall, though, I've been very pleased. Oh, I also picked up about 1 MPG."
