Hypertech's E-CON Programmer optimizes your engine's tuning for maximum fuel economy. Through a simple plug-and-play interface, the E-CON reprograms your engine's computer to squeeze more "go" out of every drop of fuel.
What's more, the Hypertech E-CON saves you wasteful trips to the mechanic by letting you read and clear diagnostic trouble code (DTYCs) and turn off "check engine" lights. And, you can quickly return the vehicle back to stock settings whenever necessary. Plus, the E-CON programmer is easily updated via USB (cable included) and the internet for the latest innovations and enhancements.
With fuel prices on the rise, the Hypertech E-CON makes perfect economic sense. Backed by a Lifetime Warranty.
Thanks to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: US Code – Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312, your vehicle’s factory warranty is protected by law when you add aftermarket parts. Details

The instructions were easy to follow and downloading appeared to be fairly simple. Results after reprograming were not significant. My F-150 actually lost about a mile per gallon. The truck does seem to run smoother at idol and shift better but I would not purchase this product if you are looking for fuel savings as the advertisement would lead you to believe. Very disapointed.

I was very pleased with the E-CON. I installed it on my wife's 2011 Expedition. I wasn't concerned about the 40 extra horses, but bought it to improve my mileage. I checked the mileage on several trips without it and then with it. By the vehicles mileage indicator, at 70 mph on cruise, I got a 2 mph increase, from 20 to 22mpg. What surprise me was at 75, the mileage went from 18 to 21.5mpg. If you put the pencil to it, the E-CON will pay for itself within 10,000 highway miles.

This programmer is easy to use and seems to increase power and gas mileage. My estimate is 1.5-2 mpg more and I could feel and hear a difference in performance. I would recommend this to anyone trying to squeeze more mpg's out of their vehicle.

The device was very easy to install and tech was right there when I needed them but as far as econ its just not there. I have ran several tanks of fuel through and there has been no change in my milage. I will continue to test and hopefully it will get better.

Loaded the tuning, for three weeks watched gas gallons, wrote down each fill-up miles. Have lost 2 miles per gal. Under stock 15 miles per gallon. Insted i was hoping to gain 2 miles a gallon. If you want a tune not a saving gas mileage tune i guess it's a good tune.

Will it allow me to adjust the speed limiter?
Answered by Nathan S. — May 01, 2012 4:29 PM 2009 GMC Sierra
The Max Energy E-CON does not have the ability to adjust the top speed limiter, however the Max Energy Power Programmer caries the same program as the E-CON and allows for control over the top speep limiter. Please remember to never exceed the speed rating of your tires.flag Accept Answer

Will the E-Con improve Horsepower ?
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 06, 2012 7:31 AM
Hi Charles, the E-Con tunes your vehicle for maximum fuel efficiency, not for performance. It does not have the performance tunes in it like the other Hypertech products. For that you would need the Hypertech Max Energy Programmer or another performance tuner.flag Accept Answer
