Description

Hypertech's E-CON Programmer optimizes your engine's tuning for maximum fuel economy. Through a simple plug-and-play interface, the E-CON reprograms your engine's computer to squeeze more "go" out of every drop of fuel.

What's more, the Hypertech E-CON saves you wasteful trips to the mechanic by letting you read and clear diagnostic trouble code (DTYCs) and turn off "check engine" lights. And, you can quickly return the vehicle back to stock settings whenever necessary. Plus, the E-CON programmer is easily updated via USB (cable included) and the internet for the latest innovations and enhancements.

The Hypertech's E-CON is 50-state legal and available for both gasoline and diesel powered engines. With fuel prices on the rise, the Hypertech E-CON makes perfect economic sense. Backed by a Lifetime Warranty.

Notes

  • Flex Fuel Vehicles: fueling with E85 is not recommended in conjunction with your Hypertech unit. Burning E85 reduces efficiency and power compared to using gas, which nullifies the effect of Hypertech's programming.
  • Software Compatibility: the Max Energy E-CON Programmer uses Hypertech PC software to download updates and new tuning programs. This software is not yet compatible with Windows Vista.

"The E-Con is very easy to install. It saves around 2-3 mph. However, I would like to see a better description of the difference between the settings, A and B. But overall, this is a good product."

"I found the programmer to install easily, but takes a few minutes to run its course. I am running a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins. the truck had been averaging about 17 MPG on the highway. I installed the programmer the night I left to drive from Virginia to Montana a trip of about 2400 miles. I used program "A" and the truck immediately went to 21-22 MPG. I was really impressed. I never did figure out how much money the programmer saved me on fuel for that trip, but that much of a jump in fuel mileage really satisfied me that I had spent my money wisely. The only real negative about the programmer is that there isn't a lot of information even on the included CD that tells you what each program does and which program might be better for towing, or whatever. Other than that, its a great little unit. I do wish it had the ability to change a few more parameters on the truck, but I think you have to pay for them or purchase the other upgraded programmer."

"Hypertech E-Con At first I was very skeptical as most are when promised better gas milage. I installed the unit before going on a road trip of almost a 2000 miles and tracked MPG both ways------So far so good as I picked up 10- 15% better milage and that was with bucking a 20-25mph headwind coming back. 2005 Chev/Duramax Pulling a 27' Cougar 5th wheel (aroung 10000 lbs) I showed improvement when not pulling (maybe 10%) It actually seems like the better improvement is coming from when I'm pulling a load. So Far, I'm totally recommending IT!!!!!!"

"Insatallation was very easy. Havn't had a chance to see how much gas I,m saving if any. Do notice a quicker response on the throtle at slightly lower rpm,s. Recommend this product to any one that wants a little more from your engine. Pat in Hawaii"

"I was unable to get the Econ to work on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. The Hypertech people were very helpful, and were even willing to take my vehicles computer and install it themselves, but I was unable to give up my car for 3 to 4 days while it was done. I will gladly try there products again when I get another one that they support."

"I have had the engine (Powerstroke) tuned to the "A" program for a little over a week. There is a definite power increase at higher rev's (over 2100 rpm, approximately). I am in the process of checking fuel economy. If I can pick up 2 or 3 miles to the gallon with the increased power and torque, I'll be one happy camper. I was getting 10.5 mph towing a 10,500 lb fiver and about 14 mpg solo. My truck is a crew cab dually, four wheel drive which I've had for 6 years. I will post my results in a couple of weeks with the info. So far, it looks good."

"the product is incredibly easy to install. however i was hoping for better mpg. i have a completely stock 2007 f-150 4x4. since the upgrade, i've driven two tanks. the first tank was no change in mpg. and the second had 1 mpg better. i don't know if it will continue to increase or if that's it. but i know they advertised 2-6 mpg gain. so... not quite what i was hoping for."
