As you can imagine getting any type of improvement in power or gas mileage from this type of a vehicle would be a huge benefit. The aerodynamics are just not there for streamlining this type vehicle. Therefore one has to hope that any improvement with this vehicles performance could come from an aftermarket device. I have good news to report on the power provided by the Bully Dogs retuning of the 6.0 gas engine, acceleration through the power curve is excellent, gas mileage no improvement

Your price was great! The product is not what I was looking for. I have been unhappy from day one and had to send it back. It was 90 days old before I even got to use it. Sad but it happens, seems like I wasted my money no gain in mpg or performance. Just an ugly box that pulls power! Enough said, been bullied

I highly recommend check the product on the manufacturers website. AA's experts aren't quite experts! I purchased this for my Titan. They said it would work knowing it did not. I did not know until it was installed and did not have Nissan Listed. You won't know until it is installed to the power of the truck. It looked good and it takes an 1hr- 1/12hrs if you run it correctly. Have some zip ties the wiring is pretty long. The junction box will need to be mounted.

Very happy with this product. Easy to use and install. Also can totally tell the difference. A lot more power gas millage didn't improve much though cuz its hard to stay off the peddle. Only thing I wish they would change is make the screen bigger its a little on the small side.

Does this work as well on GASOLINE ENGINES (vs diesel engines)? If so, any difference in performance spec's?
Answered by Nathan S. — Apr 04, 2013 9:05 AM
Hi David, A gasoline engine will never make the ridiculous power gains that a diesel will with a tuner for one reason. They use a completely different operating principal: Gasoline engines add power through the introduction of more air and fuel in a 14.7:1 ratio. A tuner optimizes ignition timing and injector timing to build a bit more power (up to 40 hp in some turbocharged direct injection motors and an average increase of 15 hp for everything else). Diesels add power by dumping massive amounts of fuel and relying on compression to light the extremely rich air/fuel mix and commonly will see increases of 100+ hp with a tuner. Simply put, a tuner can't add air to an engine, but it sure can add fuel to one.

Answered by Nathan S. — Apr 03, 2013 11:55 AM
Hi, The tuner can add up to around 30 hp/tq depending on the setting and fuel used. This is pretty standard for most programmers with V8's of that displacement. The best part of the Bully Dog are the additional functions that go along with the power increases.

I was all set to order the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner but I was looking over the instruction PDF and noticed a warning regarding other electronic performance devices already installed. I am currently running a cold air intake with an A'PEXi S-AFC II SUPER AIRFLOW CONVERTER. It controls air/ fuel ratios over set RPM points. Also monitors throttle, rpm, knock, air/fuel correction and other fun things. The AFC is hard wired to specific points and not to the ODBII So the million dollar question (or 380) is will these two devices work hand in hand or is it one or the other?
Answered by Nathan S. — Mar 19, 2013 8:16 AM
Hi Laura, You don't wan't to mix tuning devices. OBD II or not, if the AFC is modifying spark and injector function, which is essentially the same thing the Bully Dog would do. It's one or the other for sure.

Will the Bully Dog tuner void my warranty? I am about ready to take the Airaid Cold Air intake off and write it off as a bad experience.
Answered by Nathan S. — Feb 20, 2013 9:10 AM
Hi, The downside to performance parts is that while they make the engine run more efficiently and save fuel while cruising, they also cause more fuel to be used when you get on the gas because the airflow potential is higher. More air entering the engine = more fuel needs to be added to maintain an ideal air/fuel ratio. A tuner will optimize the fuel mapping for either economy or performance, so you can increase MPGs with it, as long as you stay off of the throttle. According to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty of your vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part was the cause or contributed to the failure of the vehicle (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)). It’s always best to work with a performance-oriented dealership, but no matter who you choose, you’re protected by the law.

Went from 15 mpg to 21 mpg and 400 HP overall in Level 2 setting and it would keep up with my 90 Corvette no problem, at least until the vette top ended it haaaaaaaaaa! It literally takes only 10 minutes, and we will send all the necessary instructions and technical support. The Bully Dog tuner connects to the OBDII port in 1 minute, it is a port located underneath the steering wheel, the intake installs in 10 minutes. Hope that helps.
