I thought my truck had plenty of power before, but after I installed the Edge CS Evolution programmer it became a totally different truck, and gets two and a half more miles per gallon. It was definentaly worth the money!!

The Evolution is fantastic. Immediate improvement and you can see the improvement continue as the computer is re-learning. Using the truck primarily for towing and the CS has added confidence that my truck will have the power it needs. also added Flowmaster Cat back exhaust and K&N CAI. AutoAnything= Great Service!

It looks really good, and it really helped my shift firmness. i notice the power increase, and barely any mpg gain. And i dont burn tires everytime i pull out. But i do like the way you can view your speedomoter, RPMs, and all kinds of other stuff. Overall i like it, and i think its a good product overall.

This programmer really "wakes" my Duramax up! The Extreme setting gives you the performance. Tow mode allowed me to pull my 35' 5th wheel TT at 75 - 80 with out a strain, getting 10+ per gallon. Enconomy mode boosts mileage an easy 5 to the gallon, if you can keep from playing with the wanna bees, cause even the economy mode wakes the engine up! Making this purchase was one of the best automotive moves I've made since I bought the truck in '02.

I bought this for my 2011 Chevy Silverado and it has only been problems. It freezes, turns on or off when I use my keyless entry, and I wish I never would have bought it.

Checked reviews on tons of other programmers and am so glad I went with this one. It delivers everything it promised plus when I get my next ford truck I will be able to use it on it.

If I purchase this programmer, I know that I will gain extra power, but how many MPG's on average do most people gain? And I heard that I would have to upgrade to premium gas for this extra MPG's? Is this true? I don't want to pay more for my gas for a few more MPG's. Thank you.
Answered by Nathan S. — Oct 18, 2012 8:23 AM
Hello, The average tends to be 1-3 mpg depending on your driving style. Also, beware of the myth that higher octane fuel is better. The higher the octane rating, the easier it is for the fuel to resist exploding prematurely. Without the right internal engine setup or radical ignition timing changes, octane ratings different than what the manufacturer recommends for your car won't do anything except hurt your wallet. Always run the minimum octane rating recommended as long as it doesn't cause pinging or detonation.

Will it void my warranty? I'm afraid my dealership is going to grab any chance they can to not cover me.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 8:24 AM
Thanks to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: US Code – Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312, your vehicle’s factory warranty is protected by law when you add aftermarket parts, programmers included. Check it out here: Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

What if I don't like the new tune, is it easy to change back to stock?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 28, 2012 10:58 AM
Yes, it is very easy. The Edge programmer saves and stores your stock tune from the factory when it uploads the custom tune. So, when you want to go back to stock, just plug it in and follow the prompts.

Can you change power levels on the fly with this programmer? If not, what programmer can do that on an 06 f-150?

Unfortunately, you have to turn the truck off for up to several minutes to change programs. The Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner, however will give you on the fly adjustability.

If you still have all of your emissions components in place, you should see an increase in performance and economy.

I am just starting to get into power programmers and am wondering if this EDGE CS will work with my K&N cold air intake. I have an 06 F150 XL 4X4. Any info will be greatly appreciated..
Answered by Donovan B. — Mar 12, 2012 11:05 AM
I don't think the stock Evo programmer will do anything for your K&N, but if you get some custom tunes it might. PowerHungryPerformance.com- they do custom tunes and can adjust them for cold air intakes.

You shouldnt experience any adverse effects by using the Edge Evolution Programmer. You will probably make a little more power since you have removed a belt driven accessory.

Will this programmer void the warranty on my truck?
Answered by Nathan S. — Jun 20, 2012 7:11 AM
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer has to prove that the part you installed caused the issue. If it is the cause, the individual component is not covered for repair without voiding the entire vehicle warranty. They cannot void your warranty at the sight of an aftermarket component either.

There really isn't a definitive answer. Through extensive research I've been doing recently, there is a gray area when it comes to warranties and aftermarket add-ons. From what I have gathered, it can void the warranty if the device is directly responsible for the damage/malufunction. This device does have a return to stock setting, but there is a way to tell you are using a programmer even if you return it to stock setting. It is advised that you return it to stock if you take it in for work due to diagnostic equipment can be thrown off with other settings in the computer. The rules tend to side with the consumer, regardless of what the warranty paperwork says. I would think that it would be hard to prove anything, but I suppose they could try. I hope this helps.
